Hi everyone,

I've had steeda low profile jacking rails for a bit now but cannot find a good way to place jack stands on them?

For those that have them installed how do you place them? The jackings rails are not 100% parallel with the ground and are slightly angled upwards towards the undercarriage which doesn't allow the jack stands to be placed length wise with the rails. And due to the close proximity vehicles little metal bit that runs between the pinch welds, I cannot place the jack stands to allow the rail to sit in the valley of the jack stands either.

Does anyone have photos of how they place them?

I have the full-length rails, but maybe explaining my way could help.

https://www.steeda.com/steeda-s550-mustang-ultra-lite-chassis-jacking-rails-15-16-all-555-5205.html

The two links provide underside photos of the S550. Notice in the photos how the rocker aero piece has square reliefs along it's length. This is where I place my jack stand: perpendicular (+) to the rail and in one of the relief areas.

First, I jack the car up anywhere along the rail, but not under one of the aero reliefs, one of the openings. The car is stiff enough where even with the jack on one end, I often end up jacking the entire side of the car up.

With the car raised, I now place the stand perpendicular (+) to the rail, in one of the rocker aero relief areas, closest to if not at the ">" point, the symbol on the underside of the rocker aero telling the driver where to place the jack.

Hope that helps.

I have these as well and get annoyed every time i see them lol. That being said it doesn't seem to affect anything. My jackstands have a thick piece of rubber so the car just sinks into them.

I've heard BMRs rails are parallel though.

Are you washing the car on jack stands with the wheels off, so you can clean the insides of the wheels and the wheelwells etc? I think my neighbors think I'm nuts when they see me do that.
Do like I have, never waste energy concerning yourself with what your neighbors think. Up to the point where it could involve the police or psychiatric medical units that is.

Yes, this was the Saturday before Ponies in the Smokies. I do this at least twice a year, even though these wheels are easy to clean on the car :)

My understaning is that the BMRs used to be parallel to the ground. The Kenny Brown rails are parallel.

Jack the car up right in the middle of the jacking rails. Put your jack stands in the factory provided locations. There is a relief in the side skirt/ground effect that has a doubled pinch weld section in it.

All these are great. I have the Steeda rails and put the jack stands near the front and rear. Sort of where the bolts are. If you look at all the photos, they shows the floor jack behind the mirror to the center to keep the weight centered. Lift one side then the other. If you need more height, repeat.

I just use the rails to raise the car and go elsewhere with the jack stands.
