Looked in manual for jack points and it's just a pic of the underside with arrows pointing to the general area. Where are the safe jack points on these s550s?

Owners manual will show it. Vest advice is to invest in some full length jacking rails. Then the jacking points are anywhere along the side you want them to be.

Have you got down and looked for them? If you look where the manual indicates the actual jack points are fairly obvious.
Of course the ones along the sides are made for the oem jack. If you want to use a floor jack you'll need a special "puck" to protect the pinch welds.

So Ford service departments use those pucks when literally the lowest paid person in the dealership lifts up your car to change the oil ? Just curious.

Get yourself some jacking rails. It’s the best way to raise and lower the car without worry of lifting from the wrong location. They also stiffen the chassis a bit more.

I wouldn't know I've never worked at a dealership.
Perhaps the lifts have the slots already in the pads?
Perhaps they just don't care.

I’m going to find out this Saturday, I have my first oil change scheduled and I have Jacking Rails. Needless to say I’m a little concerned with the horror stories out there about how the dealerships handle the car.

For me, this is a new dealership that I have never been to before.

Holy foook! Thems some big-uns!

You could support the Eiffel tower with those...

Very nice though! I am thinking of getting a TIG welder for just this sort of thing.

There are arrows molded into the underside of your plastic side skirts. They make it pretty specific and clear.

The pinch welds is what throwing me off. I'm needing to use a floor jack. What brand of jacking pucks is recommended?
