That's odd. I had MRT struts on my 2006, 2013, and 2017 and never had any issues with them. On my 2019 though I opted for the Red Line because I liked the way they fit better.

And I have the Steeda pop the trunk struts as well. Works great.
I found out they failed during a car show. Thought some MFer had closed my hood. Turns out they don't stay up; no viagra is going to fix that. AmercianMuscle said I was beyond the 30 day return policy and MRT said the struts had a guarantee of 90 days and pointed me to their replacement struts @$40.

Went with the Steeda hood struts on both my previous Mustang and current Mustang. I also got the Steeda trunk struts which will fully open the trunk upon release. Love them.
Yep, after installing my Steeda Trunk Struts, it snaps open fully apon release.

I put on the Ford Performance struts because I didn't want the dealer to say anything about "aftermarket" stuff. I left my hood prop rod on because I've seen enough of these struts fail to hold the hood up after some years and I'd have a "backup" in case they did get weak and fail.

But the aftermarket is better than the Ford Performance ones by a lot.... If your dealer gives you crap over that, time to find a new dealer or better yet, just don't go to a dealer period unless your engine falls out of the car.

Exactly. Its not exactly a turbo kit. We are talking about hood struts here. I couldn't care less if my dealer likes my hood struts or trunk pop kit or debadging or window tint or carbon fiber or anything else of that nature.

One of the main differences in hood struts is the directional orientation they mount. Some face the same direction as the open hood and others are opposite. I originally had MMD struts with my stock hood (open hood direction) and they worked fine, but when I went with an aftermarket hood I could never get the hood to sit flush with the fenders and I knew the hood wasnt the culprit. I finally installed Ford Performance hood struts (which face opposite direction of open hood) and for whatever reason that solved my hood fitment issue. The FP struts work great and look good. Here's a pic, thought I had a better close up shot of the struts but couldnt find it.

How About just a Prop Rod? never have to worry about it not working!!
Whats comes with $60,000 car is just a joke, does not even work right in mine. Had a 2000 Chevy Aveo with the same set up.

I got the Roush kit and it works perfect. The lower brackets are a little more beefy than the FP ones and the price isn't that much more.
Got a question for you. I ordered the kit from CJ... installed everything and the struts are locked up. Damn near bent the hood trying to close.

Called up Roush got 2 more replacements and same exact thing. I find it hard to believe i got 4 bad struts from two different locations.

I did notice that all 4 strut ends were facing the same direction. I had to twist the stem end 180 degrees to attach. Are the bracket ball ends suppose to be opposite eachother?

Here’s the install video from CJPP to help you double check everything
