How ya figure no perfromance gain? More air means more fuel and spark equallijg more power. These are mass air cars not speed density. There has to be something to gain. Like when we swap in the airraid blue filter, def feel a diff.
I know your not trying to talk me outta if it lol

P.s. some people don't wanna cut a hole in there hood because it's a mach 1 or say or whatever specialty model. That's what I mean, they r worried about collectors status.
The scoop just routes air into the factory airbox man. Since the factory airbox opening is right behind the drivers side grill, I cant see that making much difference if any. You could argue the same goal can easily be achieved by just removing the inside of the driver faux fog light. But I seriously doubt a dyno test would show much gain either way.

Love shakers on our classics.
Not sure I’m sold that it flows with the modern lines of our cars.

Just watched a Raiti's Rides video on a 2021 Mach with this shaker and it looks to be functional
The air filter already gets the full blast from the direction of the grille, but you can improve it a little with a Velossa Big Mouth if you like (but this also increases the risk of water hammer).

Here's what we're talking about with the S550.
https://classicdesignconcepts.com/2...-system-cold-air-intake-required-not-included
Take a big scoop and feed a thin plastic hose into the air filter box from behind.

Ideally, we combine it with a hot air intake, as can be seen in the pictures from CDC.

These are the kind of things where anyone who knows a bit about it will start laughing quietly or openly when they see it under the hood.

Here is what something like this actually looks like when it serves a real™ function.
The hood scoop, then the air filter, then the carburettor, everything sits at the heart of the V8.
The blue thing is the air filter box (if you don't know old cars).

So, if you want to get serios in terms of function, you need this:

PS: If you are fishing with real flies as bait, this shaker hood could be useful on a S550, simply attach a collection container to the end of the tube for everything that comes through the scoop.

I believe we already have a discussion about this, but I am lazy to look it up so will reiterate here. As soon as you connect two independent tubes to the intake you may as well worsen the situation depending on how the whole system starts to behave.
With only one inflow the intake has no choice but to take what it gets. However the additional inflow may as well become an outflow if its pressure is lower than the pressure on the intake (or vice versa - the original inflow may start to leak the air from the shaker).
I am not saying it is the case, I am saying that the outcome is not that clear as it may seem first hand.

Dammit. I've avoided doing this for 3 years but ppl keep talking about it. Just watched a Raiti's Rides video on a 2021 Mach with this shaker and it looks to be functional, although it's hard to imagine any noticeable effects on HP. But it does shake and it does look pretty good. I might cave one of these days and do it.
Just order it from LMR!! Can't wait, I personally love the way it looks via RETRO!!! Ya know, back in the Foxbody days, everyone said the Stormin Norman hood w ram air was pointless. I had the underside ram air that was forced directly into airbox and the small scoop under passenger side bumper and i got so much air into that motor and it was EFI and it had mass air, not speed density so it def boosted the air. The car was a blast!!!!
Thanks Anthony

Yeah the look is growing on me. I started to look for used iconic silver 2018+ hoods and if I can find one for a decent price I might try it. Don’t want to cut the factory hood. Might even do something off the wall like find a black hood and see what that looks like. I was torn between black and silver when I ordered so that might scratch both itches! Or might look stupid 😂🤷‍♂️

Cool deal, I was debating on slapping a Whipple on it, but then decided NO on the blower route. The Mach isn't as fast as i'm use to via 2021 Roush stage 3 car. But its ok and cool, at least i dont have to worry about grenading CATS every 6 months anymore. I chose the shaker as a replacement to scratch my itch lol I am having it professionally done via body shop. Not dealing with that lol

Honestly, I wouldn't have big enough🥎⚾ to even consider doing that.

I love it too. Did you install yourself? Any difficulties with the install? Driving impressions?

I installed the Shaker but had the hood cut professionally. I was thinking about doing it myself but common sense took for once lol

The shaker install was pretty simple. Just followed the directions from CDC. It looks so awesome every time you climb in the seat. I have got nothing but positive comments, usually it’s one of the first things people notice. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
