Looks great! You know you’re on the right track building a race car when it makes you question some life choices along the way.

Engine is fully-buttoned up (as much as we can on the stand). Dropping onto the cradle now to install the clutch, flywheel, long tubes, trans, etc.

Bravo bud, are you still waiting on the oil pan or did you decide against it?

Really can’t wait to see how much HP those heads provide. This build is probably going to be a game changer template for others looking to add extra HP, since all we have now are boosted, headers, and/or a tune.

Did you ever dyno the car before the engine tear down / rebuild?
If so, will you be using the same shops dyno?

Don’t expect to much of a HP gain. My guess is it’ll be in the 530-540 rwhp range.
Most of what he built is for durability.

The long tubes, tune and if he runs higher octane (not sure what fuel he’ll be running) will provide the most hp gains over the mild head port / chamber clean up. These voodoo heads are already oem cnc ported.

First, al]wesome build, this is helping me with my voodoo tear down and assy.

When you install the headers would you mind taking a couple of measurements?

I’m looking for total width were the collectors connect to mid pipe?
I’m putting a voodoo in my 65 fastback and trying to determine how wide s550 headers sit.

That all depends on header brand and chassis.
Voodoo headers are the same as coyote headers.
You can use any coyote header on a voodoo.

I understand. I’m trying to determine if s550 headers will fit between the frame rails of a 65. I don’t know the width of s550 frames.

My point is why not use headers for a coyote swap into a 65 Mustang?

I don’t like the brands out there.
I was going to put a 4.6 in it with 03 cobra kooks. They fit but I changed directions. So I am wondering if off the shelf s550 headers will fit.

I’m sure Nick at ARH (American racing headers) can hook you up for your swap.

I’ll dm you. I don’t like that we’re hijacking honeys thread. Sorry.

Welp good news and bad news (mostly bad news).

We got the engine in, drive shaft in, and ARH exhaust system installed. When we started the beast, it ran fine for about a minute and then when I applied a small amount of throttle and it fell on its face (sputtering, almost died, etc.) and then threw a p0025 code (B" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 2)).

When we were assembling, we had a bit of a problem with one of the cam phasers and I had to take it apart. Guess what camshaft is throwing the code? Yep - same one.

At the moment, we're planning to order a new phaser. While we wait, we'll do a cylinder leak down test/compression test (to verify valve train and cylinder health) and then begin tear down. Anyone have any additional thoughts/recommendations?

On the the brightside, it sounded fucking savage for about a minute :)
