The ‘1934171’ reference is the part number on my invoice (Shown as (F1934171’).

The F2GZ6766A number will get you loads of hits online.

It cost me £4.88

Only a few car related bits for Christmas this year :

In between the Christmas festivities, I got around to fitting the CTEK sense. I stripped off my existing charging pigtail and modified it to add in the sense unit :

Solder and heat shrink rather than crimps :

I fitted the sense unit behind the battery :

All the wiring and fuses are within the battery box, but enough out of the way to allow battery change :

I also took the opportunity to remove, reshape and refit the rubber seal around the back of the box (it’s aluminium spine was distorted from the factory) and to trim the rubber around the neg cable exit (it didn’t sit right following the fitment of the strut brace).

Lid back on and a quick wipe with 303 :

I still need to secure the pigtail, but I want to use rubber cable ties this time as the CTEK cable softens a lot with heat and the plastic cable ties were starting to dig in.

The unit reports voltage :

SOC :

And not like I can do a lot about it, temperature :

At least the temp should be reasonably representative of the battery as it’s sat in the same sealed (relatively speaking) compartment.

I also choose to connect directly to the battery as it’s the best place to charge (with an intelligent charger) and monitor what’s going on. I know about the ‘potential’ BMS issues, but those go away after eight hours and who’s connecting a maintenance charger for less than that time anyway … ?

I know both charger and monitor will have tolerances, but it reports 14.39v maximum :

Against a spec of 14.40v :

I think that’s close enough :like:

You can blame @kilobravo as I spotted his and that's what put it on my radar :giggle: and then my Christmas list ... :sunglasses:

I will most likely end up with another one for the daily - we are back homeworking full time again so both cars are seeing infrequent use at the moment, my partners car is the only one thats getting used regularly at the moment :frown:

The mustang got a wash and a quick blast yesterday to blow away the cobwebs and polish up the brake disks :sunglasses: but it looks like they will salt the roads again this week ... :frown:

Guilty as charged, WD. :-)

But damn I hope this whole Germ BS is behind us in the not too distant future. Then again, it may be preferable for some to work at home. Not in the work force any longer but me thinks most people would rather go to work than try to do it from home.

In any case, good luck with the CTEK's, amigo. Love mine and love having a freshly-charged battery every time I fire my girl up.

Not one of my friends, family or peers who are WFH WANT to return to the office. I get pretty confused at who all these people who are WFH and want to go back in are and do they actually exist?
The only people piping up about collaboration in the office are Senior Execs who have their heads that far up each others arseholes its impossible to tell who is talking.

Everyone is different, some, I accept(albeit I don't know any of them) may actually want to go back to the office as its difficult WFH but that isn't justification to drag those who WFH successfully and without issue. I get effing annoyed at people saying how others generally want to go back in, I actually won't go back in but that's not the point. I am far from convinced that even 20% would choose to go back in unless under pressure from higher management to do so

If an employer wants it's employees back in the office so be it, nothing you can do but tired of them telling people it's actually what you as an employee want!!!

Not directed at you personally just me on a rant!!!!

Sure they do. And there are many of them.
Of course, it all depends on where you happen to work. If your work place sucks, and your colleagues suck, then it's understandable that you don't want to go back.
For each person who was fortunate enough to work in a nice place and to have nice colleagues and who has been deprived of this joy, there's another one who hated their job and who's happy that they can now stay home. One man's misery is another man's fortune.

i wfh but i wouldn't mind going back in one or two days a week providing some of my colleagues also match up with those days as i feel i'm missing out on some learning / work related chat BUT some of that chat can be replaced with Teams calls etc. It'd give the car a run too heading into the office but I got a house based on wfh from now on with the current job otherwise i'd live much closer to the office as I always have done. I do know some folks that have pestered the T/L to go back into the office to work but they got told no unless they could not wfh - ie no space, others working there already / kids / some other reason.

They obv dont have a cool battery monitor and need to get out more to keep their cars alive :sunglasses: I actually think my 17MY battery is on it's last legs, doesn't seem to keen to start cranking, just a hesitation after hitting the Start Button but once spinning it turns over just fine. 5yo (near as dammit) battery, i think it's done it's time.

I agree, people who can't work from home or find it difficult fair enough I fully understand and I fully accept there are people who want to go back to socialise, just no one I know and by the looks of the city where I worked when we COULD go back many decided not to, of they didn't have to. My observation was people didn't seem to be rushing back in given the choice.

My friends, family etc have found WFH means you have more time to spend with the people you choose or on the things they enjoy. If being in a cool office with work colleagues is something that has a higher value for you so be it, I just don't know anyone like that, maybe it's a generational thing, it's nothing to do with hating the place or role or people there. I just value different things.

My point really was I don't like people telling me how I should feel and how going back into an office is actually going to benefit me, i just don't realise it, even though the benefits to me clearly don't outweigh WFH.
Fortunately I now won't need to go back into the office due to a choice I made.

I will get off my soap box and shut up now as I don't want to hijack the build thread.

CTEK sense ordered. I've already had the charging cable installed, so will use the above photos and splice it in.

You didn't miss much, he didn't even wish you a happy new year. How terribly rude!
