I have had 5 mustangs. 3 have been manuals (including the one I have now) and 2 were automatics. The last automatic I had was a 13 5.0. I got rid of the car after only 7 months because of my disappointment with the automatic. What bothered me was the car just didn't feel like a 420 horse car to me. It didn't pull as hard or put me back in the seat like I thought it should. Now it was fast, but what I am saying is that if felt like it was weaker from a torque standpoint. In owning that car I honestly felt like the 5.0 was massively overrated and over hyped. THEN, I later test drove 2 14 manual 5.0's and was like WOW! Now I get it! All that motor needed was the right transmission. The manual was a torque monster. It flew and put me back in the seat WAY more than that automatic did. Felt night and day stronger. So, when I started shopping for a 15, I never even considered the automatic. I knew what I wanted. It was manual or nothing for me. Now, I don't fault those who want an automatic. To each their own. It is still a mustang and is a cool car. I don't believe that a transmission choice is reflective of someone's manhood or some junk like that. But to me, manual is the way to go in the 5.0.
