Weather has been screwing up everything over there.

Mind you it was the warmest winter out west I can remember. We had 26C yesterday. It happens.
Yeah i heard, good for you guys..suppose to be getting back in the 10-15's here starting wednesday.

Weather has been all over the map lately and we too got a very mild winter.

Oh well, global weather is changing no doubt about it.

I like to disassemble things.
Just wanted to add the following. I was having a discussion with someone at SVTP regarding the FRPP oil separators and he sent me this...

First I've heard of an R suffering a failure, as much as the powerplants are identical. I offered up my contact information and asked him to forward it to the gentleman that suffered the failure. I hope he chimes in there or here if for anything, some additional clarity on the failure itself as well as how it was handled.

"Matching numbers" cars have not existed for decades. It always kills me when somebody looks to sell a modern car and cites it's a "numbers matching" vehicle.

There may still be some that continue that practice, but I'm not aware of them.

Its a crying shame that Ford Corporate does not treat their GT350 customers better than this. It is their current premier vehicle, and dealers should treat the owners like VIPs in the service area. I would expect nothing less than a comparable(Mustang, nicer car) loaner provided by Ford for the extent that the car is down. This is rediculous.

You can buy a cheaper Lexus base vehicle, and have a loaner no questions asked for as long as is needed. Ford customer service SUCKS.

This is absolutely one area where the "luxury" brands shine. I owned many Audis in the past and a) dealerships were fairly consistent in their high-level of service focused on you and understanding what was going on with your vehicle and b) they all provided a loaner car, free of charge, usually within brand with some milage restrictions.

I think scale and price point would prevent that happening for every Ford, but at least the high-end vehicles (base MSRP $50k+) they could make that happen for. I doubt they'll be telling Ford GT customers they're out of luck when that goes in for service. They'll at least get a Fiesta loaner. ;)

My previous Lexus vehicles, and my service experiences were outstanding. If needed, I would be offered a loaner vehicle if my service would take more than 1.5hrs. In general, I would be asked if I would be needing a loaner when I setup the appointment, so they could make sure one was available. There was never a mileage restriction, and they would let you return the vehicle and pick yours up AT YOUR CONVENIENCE. The only thing they asked is to return the loaner with the same level of fuel that you left with.

Lexus has the best service I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Ford should take notes... because they severely lack in that department.

I had the same experiences with BMW. You are treated like a VIP when you bring your car in, one of the first questions would be "do you need a loaner?" When I came back to the Ford brand that was the first thing I noticed the huge difference the way SAs handle you and your concerns. That's embarrassing that a loaner is being offered for 10 days when the work will take a minimum of 30 days.

Do the right thing Ford!!!

It depends on the dealer. Not Ford Corporate.

My personal dealer would provide a loaner no problem.

Mine as well. I always get a loaner, Likely the dealer, nothing to do with Ford.
But I am curious, what would the average service cost be at Ford,
Compared to Audi or BMW?
I suspect a fair bit more for even a simple oil change.

Matching numbers definitely are important on higher-end and specialty vehicles in all price ranges, especially when you sell one to a car enthusiast, to a collector or at a collector car auction. The vehicle has less value with a replacement engine, although having an OEM story helps. ("Defective original engine replaced with new, proper year engine.")

In addition, even an average buyer of a used car could see a replacement engine listed on a Carfax report or the title/transfer paperwork in some states and question whether or not a car is worth the same as a comparably priced matching numbers car. ("Gee, this one had the engine replaced. The previous owner must have really beat on it." or "I wonder what else is wrong with this car.")

I took one of my 911's in for annual service once (takes a few hours), and told them I'd work from the wait area with my laptop. They insisted on setting me up in a vacant sales office with (non-guest) WiFi, phone access and a printer.

Just can't get enuff!
My "dealership service" experience with the 3 domestic brands (GM, Ford, Dodge) is simple.... penny pinchers, nickle & dime'ng, and a common denominator of subpar customer service.
