I feel like this saga is never going to end but not quite sure how I could of handled this better than I did
IMHO you probably couldn't have. Well done for being measured and resilient.

I agree with @stanglife, the tolerances are sensitive. If it were my car I'd have them borescope it while you're present to make sure there's been not even a jot of interference between pistons or valves. Not a big job and it's worth getting everything right.

So I'm not the only one who's had an issue like this... on the Coyote as well, not the Voodoo.

Exact same symptoms as OP's initial post. When I started having this issue, I noticed that the vacuum nozzle tip on the air filter inlet was broken. Fixed it (taped lol), but still had the issue.

Mileage: 29,615
Sept. 26, 2019 - Oct. 24, 2019

Tech note: P0303 - Misfire on cylinder #3. Spark plug was caked with oil. From borescope, oil was built up, cylinder's valve area was clogged & caked over with oil, oil control piston ring was seized.

If I knew back then what I knew now, I should have immediately gone back to the dealer and demanded a new block or a new car. I had noted several times about excessive smoke coming from the right exhaust only (even during warmer & non-humid days). The moment this incident occurred and the repairs were complete, all that excess smoke just disappeared.

There is absolutely no way a vehicle that new should have fairly significant issues like that.

As for the warranty, I was very lucky. I purchased the whole Ford's extended warranty mess, and from this incident, it already paid for itself. Including labor costs, the quote was right at $3,300. (Edit: Just realized powertrain is 5 years, I would have been covered anyway. But had A/C issues twice, and both times it was covered by the extended warranty, so extra lucky me)

As for the report, I can only read it as it is given. I was not mechanically inclined back then, so I have no idea what could have caused this., but it does seem to line up with OP's thoughts. And damn, did it absolutely suck.

Shout out to Russell & Smith Ford in Houston for taking care of me.
But the car was purchased from Mac Haik Ford. Not sure if someone there had fun with the car before I bought it.

My initial report from the tech was almost exactly the same as yours, I assume if there was an issue with the air filter inlet on mine they would’ve found it.

At least my new issue with the tensioner was directly related to the initial repair so it’s all on the dealer (much easier than my warranty company). I’ve been told that additional analysis and new parts should arrive/be complete by Tuesday and all being well the new repair done by Friday.

My engine's been running fine since then--didn't have any issues like that from repair. But it's still completely stock, and I almost never push it to any extreme loads, saving for an all out 6500 rpm pull every two months or so. Who knows what could happen if I boost it? Perhaps I should prepare to have a new engine in it for the future.
