Got 6.5 years outta my factory battery. It's all in how one maintains it.I’ve got 3.5 years on my current battery and it’s time to remove it.
Don't touch the car for 8 hours. How does one reset the battery monitoring system?

Just because you have 3.5 years on a battery doesn't mean a thing use it until its dead...years don't mean a thing the voltage is what counts...I got 4.5 out out of mine, when you change it, or discomnect it you will need to reset the BMSHas anyone ever tried the AGM 12 volt battery in their S550? Good or bad?

Wow! That's really good. The longest battery I had in any of my cars was an Interstate in my Honda that had a 5 year guarantee and it lasted 6 years. Oh, it wasn't a Costco Interstate, was the regular retail Megatron line.I wonder about the longevity of them versus a traditional one.
My original battery in my '15 finally shit the bed last week. Just shy of its 9th year.
Was that an option or something, or only came with certain models? I don't think it was standard, but could be wrong. I replaced mine in my 2018 in Jan 2023 with a Motorcraft BAGM-96R. The original was most definitely not an AGM.The OEM one in my 2018 was already an AGM. Replaced it with an AGM as well.
Nothing special to mention.
(don't forget to reset the Battery Monitoring System when you change the battery)
