I dont have active exhaust, as I have a 16 GT PP, but I do have the acceltech resonated x. I must have lucked out as I do not have any of the strange sounds anyone is referring to with mine. It is ever so slightly louder than stock and has a much better tone to the sound. I'm quite happy with it. I bought a Solo Mach XV catback first, but as loud as it was it took away from the "luxury" feel of the car, so I went back to stock then bought the acceltech. I've kicked around the idea of getting an h-pipe, but I think that would just go right back to being too loud for my liking.

Acceletec is out. C&L H pipe is in. Didn't do resonators. So happy. No drone or weird noises at any rpm or setting. Only the Corsa sound that was muffled. Track mode is insane/race car loud. Startled a young lady working at a car wash. Unleashed the GT from a redlight & saw her jump from corner of eye. Lol

Update. Took the accelatec off and reinstalled my old H pipe with 2 aero exhaust TR251 bullet resonators integrated in. Straight sex. Cleaned up a ton of rasp and exhaust doesnt sound raw anymore. It's loud, but way more refined.
Recap
Gen 5 whipple
Lth with off road mid pipes
Steeda h pipe with integrated resonators
Roush axle backs

Finally got that Acceletec pipe off the car. The UFO humming was terrible.
Didn’t like the H pipe thought it sounded too raw and mushy.
I’ve just installed the switchfire and it’s like night and day compared to both H pipe and acceletec.
The sound is so smooth and less drone than the H pipe. Actually it has no drone at all. Not raspy at all and sounds beautifully clear with the sound pinging off the walls.

unfortunately you get what you pay for in this world and the switchfire is 100% worth the investment.
sounds amazing on my Bullitt

Done a few miles now with the switchfire.
Here’s my findings.
The switchfire is actually quieter than the H pipe and those who fear rasp from an x pipe will be surprised because their is none. No drone at all either.
exhaust note sounds more refined and also loads more bangs and crackles when using the auto rev ( on the manual ).
Overall those of you who were not happy with the Hpipes boomy sound that’s a little raw then the switchfire is a must.

these engines will never sound like the old muscle cars with an Hpipe. They are modern engines that need high flow.

oh p.s - the power I was losing with the Acceletec was crazy. The switchfire has brought it all back

Agree. My car is way faster now with the acceletec off. Did order some Corsa Pro resonsators to put in before AB.2-3 Db reduction in sound & kill some rasp in sport/track mode. Wish I had tried the Switchfire with Corsa AB. Sold it when took cats off car.

Finally installed it over the weekend. First impressions are that the exhaust is now more boomy at idle and while driving in track mode, inside the cabin I hear this new kind of hollow/howling sound. Did not wind it out and drove only for a few miles, but I think I lost some of the pops and the mids at higher RPM may actually be a bit quieter than stock. Comparing cold starts with a sound meter app shows negligible increase (a tenth of a dB). Overall, just gives it a unique sound. You be the judge. Attaching two sound clips of cold starts (you get some bird sounds as a bonus). First is the stock. There are some sound artifacts as I converted from FLAC to MP4 and uploaded to site. Would I do this all again? Not sure.
I (my exhaust shop) just installed my Accelatech Resonated mid pipe, I too hear a definite Howling. CJ pony parts is suggesting it could be an exhaust leak. I called Gibson Performance exhaust who manufacturer's the part, the phone tech said he had heard of this issue before and replacing the part with a new part solved the problem for the last unhappy customer.
I have an appointment to take it back to the exhaust shop and check all the fittings/connections to be sure there are no leaks. If that doesn't solve the issue, I'll have to work with CJ Pony parts for a replacement.

Mine started a little bit and got worse each day. Weird howling ufo metallic sound.

Could have been a bad batch they made ?.

Have them install it backwards. You don't want all the "cheese grater" things grabbing your exhaust flow. In the 70's 80's some glass packs were like this. Putting them on backwards helped flow and sound.

Best bet is to get a better muffler. Dyno Max, Magnaflo, Vibrant, Stainless brothers, there are many made correctly for flow, power and sound.

Don’t think it’s possible to fit it the wrong way.

It would take heating the pipes up & manipulation to install backwards. TBH it looks like a design flaw within the 'chamber'. Took mine a lil longer but got the weird sound & power loss. The supercharger whistle was louder as well. Took it off & threw away. Didn't even contact CJ Pony Parts. The MF Tru X was a nicer piece.
