How long did you run it for? You have to let it break-in for a while.

At first I thought the same thing, and was a bit disappointed. But now after about 1000 miles on it, I can confidently say it's definitely louder than stock.
I ran it for at least 20 minutes 😂 it was that bad. Put it on and then immediately took it right back off after a test drive. This was on my 2018 GT without active exhaust. It was loud enough at lower RPM but above about 4500 it about disappeared; and on top of that, it felt like there was a power restriction too.

Because there is…….
It’s a true X crossover or as I call it a “Choke X”.
Had a Steeda X on the Mach for about as long as I had the Tru-X on the GT. Took it off for the exact same reasons. Very happy with the resonated H.

Thanks, I like the sound with the H pipe but I think it will be louder than I am looking for.
Borla Switchfire will be just as loud as an H pipe (or X pipe for that matter) if not a little louder. Just an FYI.

I have the Acceltech Resonated X pipe on my 2016 GT PP with everything else being stock. I previously installed a Solo Mach catback, but the older I get the less I want loud obnoxious exhaust. It lasted a couple of days before I wanted it gone (I had the same exhaust on my 2015 6 years ago and loved it).

I considered a resonator delete x or h pipe, but having heard many sound clips, it was just not what I was looking for. The resonated x pipe is exactly what I was looking for. It gives it a different sound from stock with the x-pipe, which I like. It is ever so slightly louder than stock, but not much. You'll notice it, but its not a big difference in volume. Under hard acceleration, it is a bit louder than stock but still far quieter than any axle back or catback would ever be. The biggest change is the sound as opposed to volume. It's hard to describe, it just sounds better to my ears.

Thanks, I think I am steering away from the switchfire (due to loudness) and leaning toward the Borla touring resonator with the internal H or the accelatec resonated x. I am just trying to decide if either one of these has any performance advantage over the stock resonator.

I can't answer that question. I live in downtown Houston and drive my car in rush hour traffic every day, so for the time being, additional performance is not needed or even on my radar. The car has plenty of power for me in stock form, I just like the sound.

You’ll save some weight with either of those over the stock resonator. Performance gains will likely be minimal but it will sound better.
