This is only found in metropolitan areas and where there is always a high volume of traffic.Quite a few years ago the fixed info speed signs on the autobahn were replaced with electronic speed signs controllable from a central station.
I would have thought there is a smartphone app for an electronic speedo.I hit 194 on Gandy bridge in my whippled GT last year. Still was pulling good but I had no idea how fast I was going at the time. I was going for 200 and I thought I was at like 205+ but after calculating my speed via rear end gear ratio , transmission ratio, tire size and engine RPM it was only 194. Damn GT speedo ending at 160.
Yea I have a dragy, I wasn't expecting to do a 200 mph run though but the conditions were perfect (2+ miles of open flat bridge, no cars, perfect weather) and I just stayed in it until I thought I was at 200. Heres a couple of dragy runs on that bridgeI would have thought there is a smartphone app for an electronic speedo.
Dang that thing is movin.Yea I have a dragy, I wasn't expecting to do a 200 mph run though but the conditions were perfect (2+ miles of open flat bridge, no cars, perfect weather) and I just stayed in it until I thought I was at 200. Heres a couple of dragy runs on that bridge
One of the most annoying things with my past GTs. If you take the rain tray out on the 500, the flow through the hood vent just sucks the hood down and it doesn't move at all, at least on mine. I'm sure the hood pins help too.Mostly noticed no movement of the hood at those speeds. My 350 hood moves around at 65.
Easily.that thing got there pretty effortlessly, with no limiter it would probably sail passed 200.
Driving that fast for extended periods just wears you out. Had several fast cars used to drive senior military leaders. All Capable of 160+. It was fun (Without the leader on-board) to play with the Locals. In the 90s, that was still the case.
Currently, there are many construction sites, especially because of worn bridges.
In addition, there are more people who can't use the rearview mirror.
But basically I'm with you.
I drove in the Netherlands recently, during the day 62 mph is allowed, and it's really tiring.
In contrast, driving in the UK at 70 mph was somehow more pleasant, probably because it wasn't so crowded.
But the speed of the GT500 on the Autobahn is too exhausting in the long run, 100 to 110 mph is a comfortable cruising speed.
The Mustang also provides the right image in the rearview mirror of the car in front, it will make way.
Even most BMW and Mercedes drivers (often Diesel) understand that they are not in the same league regarding power and speed.
The German National Highway System (Autobahn) consists of many individual highways (autobahns). I've been on some of them that have the electronic signs out in the boondocks where, if you're lucky, you'll only see cows. That is what makes the whole system so frustrating. This is only found in metropolitan areas and where there is always a high volume of traffic.
It still exists in many places, the good old Autobahn with my most favorite traffic sign #282:

"Freie Bahn mit Marzipan!" as we say, downshift and put the pedal to the metal.
Was especially nice on the way back from the Netherlands to finally see this sign again after the miserable inching over there...
By the way, the climate clowns over here have probably made it their goal to dismantle this sign on their own authority on the highways...
Let's hope they don't get under the wheels in the process.
Won’t the digital display in the middle go over 160? I know the analog stops at 160, but the digital one should go higher. I’m not sure as I haven’t had mine that fast yet. Nowhere where I live would give me the chance to get that high. I’m also pretty sure since I have 4.09 gears that my top speed took a hit. So I might not be able to hit 160 even though I have 689 rwhp.I hit 194 on Gandy bridge in my whippled GT last year. Still was pulling good but I had no idea how fast I was going at the time. You will still run out of power or road before you run out of gearWon’t the digital display in the middle go over 160? I know the analog stops at 160, but the digital one should go higher.
