Well it took almost a year due to COVID and a freak ice storm in Texas but I finally got the GT500 on the track this last weekend. Thought I'd share my impressions for those that haven't had the chance.
I'll start by saying I have hundreds of track days over the last decade and thousands of laps at Gateway International (my home track) which is where I was last weekend. The weather was nearly perfect, mid-60's, dry and sunny. The car is absolutely amazing. Completely balanced everywhere, power everywhere, perfect rev matching, perfect gear selection and effortless everywhere. The car just pulls everywhere. Have the camber set at -2 and had little to no tire wear even being fairly aggressive in the oval. Had no problem keeping up with anyone on the track. Still lots to learn about this car and more to go get. Well worth the purchase and the wait.
Next outing will be with Northwoods Shelby Club at Road America in June.
