1.25 inch hitch works great on my mustang with my heavy ebike. Also the weight of the hitch helps a bit with traction and overall balance of the vehicle. I think a 1.25 to 2 inch adapter could work. Depending on how heavy your bikes are. Also get some anti wobble braces.
