This guy Max put out another video on the GT500, but this time the limiter was removed. I want a no speed limit highway in the US!!!

At 12:29 its going at 189 mph and he says it wont go faster than that, but did anyone noticed he's only in 6th gear? I would think if he ticked 7th he would or am I wrong?

wasnt at redline in 6th so 7th it would just lose power and slow down probably

Dont think so, from what I can gather looking at the dash (he has something blocking the Tach), he was doing about 6000-6500 rpm, redline is 7500, so if he's doing 6500 at max in 6th, ticking 7th would drop the rpms probably closer to 5500-6000. If the limiter truly was off, he should be hitting closer to 197-200, Think about it the Shelby's top speed with the speed limiter in place is 180, do you think ford really put a limiter on just for 8 mph so you dont hit 188-189? doubt it.

AutotopNL has maxxed out hundreds if not thousands of cars. It would accellerate slower if not decelerate at 5500 RPM than at 6500 RPM since the car makes less power at 5500 than 6500 rpm...

There's a point where he's at like 188ish and lets off for a sec, then gets on it again and it goes right back to 188 in a few seconds from 180. Car would easily do 200 with enough room and balls. Also the wing and front aero bits + rain tray out (which I assume this guy has done), is something like 400-500 lbs of downforce at those speeds if I remember correctly. That ain't gonna help your top speed runs lol.

Edit: 550 Lbs of downforce for the CFTP, 380ish for base with handling pack, at 180 MPH.

But wouldn't that be the case if the wing was in the up position instead of the default position? In the angled position it would create more downforce to that 550lbs to keep the car grounded opposed to the default position? And I will still stand by me comment he could have easily done 200, I think he might have gotten cold feet, or didnt want to push it too much considering its not his.

I assume the 550 lbs is the wing at max height, not sure how much it loses in the "down" position, but I'd assume cant be more than 100ish (who knows).

He didn't keep his foot in it long enough at 189 to be able to tell if it was done or not. I think he was running into traffic and played it safe. On a race track it might go faster.
Would be a carnage here. People don’t know how to drive here. Proof is that the fast lane is the right lane
I think it was Montana that repealed the speed limit. Due to assholes who wouldn't keep lane discipline they had to re-implement speed limits.

You all make good points, considering the possible drag (aero layout), headwind?, tires (he mentioned vibrations at high speed), being responsible with someone else’s car in a public setting… I’m sure those who have done a pulley/tune have easily hit 200.
The owner only gave him a quarter tank and it was drinking away even by the time he started doing the big pulls lol!
I hope synthetic fuels will work with this engine to improve power and efficiency…

The car was pulling really good in 5th gear and then in 6th gear it seems to struggle. You can see him pull to over 180 while in 5th then go from about 160 to that 189 while in 6th and it takes a lot longer. The gearing of 6th may be too far from 5th for getting the max top speed. Another thought is increasing rpm to get more out of it in 5th. I think if you increased rpm to help the gear difference and removed the aero the car would easily go above 200. I think the hellcats are able to hit 200 and the gt500 has shown to be quite a bit faster.

That is simply incredible. It ain't your daddy's muscle car eh? LOL

I think I'll stick with my box stock GTCS... My reflexes couldn't handle those type of speeds. I can make 140 with ease and have no safe place to take it faster anyway.
