This is turning into another one of "those" threads. We all need to be ok with the fact that this is a mass produced vehicle that is going to depreciate greatly over the years. Anyone having visions of a Barrett Jackson Auction selling your GT350 for 10.2 million needs to let those thoughts go. 2016-17's new motor or not are selling in the low 40's now on dealer lots. Enjoy the car, deal with the issues and depreciation... buying sports cars new from dealer lots is not a poor man's hobby.

Sorry to pile on bad news, I know a few guys now with replaced GT350 engines.
These guys have told me the Ford dealers have reduced the trade in values once it is known the engine was replaced
I would serious see if you can get Ford replace the car
Gotta love Ford dealers. "We can only sell the car with an ADM because it's rare and limited".

Short time later:

"There are tons of GT350's out there and the car is not rare. Because your car had a major mechanical replacement due to Ford's crappy quality control we are also going to take a haircut on the trade in value. Don't like it try the Chevy dealer down the street"

This is why I refuse to pay MSRP, let along ADM, on any Ford product.

The crazy thing is dealers are still trying to charge ADM on GT350 and GT350R models.

Don’t kid yourself, that kind of bs isn’t exclusive to Ford. Paying above msrp for anything is asinine to me.

Update: Dealer has the motor! Work is starting on the replacement. Maybe Friday....

Good to hear.

Has Ford extended compensation to you and in what form? This info will help other Shelby Owners with similar failures to get the same treatment.

That's awesome!!
Hopefully ASAP!! Good luck.

@Montoya, if you've had to make a payment on the car while it's been at the dealer, is Ford covering that payment for you?
If it were my car, I would make them pay for it. That's the least they can do for a brand new car.
It's all about customer service! :like:

Thanks guys. As you know I have a unique case with the failure being so far from home. So I have travel expenses plus loss of use of the vehicle. So far I’ve submitted travel and payment information to my CSR. We will see, and yes Cobra Jet, I will update what happens.

Flight I booked for Friday is really empty, fingers crossed it doesn’t get cancelled or the country goes on lock down beforehand...

Next step is to shut down the airlines for two weeks. I expect that will happen soon.

Excellent!

BTW no surprise to see a Focus RS in the shop - mine was the 2nd worst new car I have ever owned in terms of issues (2002 WRX was #1). After the headgasket recall, it was in the shop for weeks at a time every month or 2 for oil leaks - and everyone has the same issues. Such an amazing car to drive but so flawed.

EDIT: Just remembered my 2000 Focus ZX3 had 9 recalls in 2 years which makes it THE WORST I have ever owned. Then WRX, then RS. I hope my 350R is better!

Totally understood with a couple of your cars but on the flip side how many issues have you had with your 2013 Boss 302 LS assuming that you still have it?

Quad exhaust, TracKey, live axle, P Zero Corsa tires, outstanding 7500 RPM redline engine and rear seat delete therefore it doesn't get much better than that!!

Both the 2012 and 2013 Boss 302 and Laguna Seca's were incredible performers when they first launched in February 2011.

With respect to your Focus RS and WRX cars I get all that as I owned a 2018 Type R for over a year and drove it hard with my wife loving that car and should have never let it go.

Possibly the best shifting manual transmission that I have ever owned.

Good luck with your new R and suggest that you will be in good shape on the long term!

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Zero real issues with my 2012 Boss 302 and my 2013 Boss 302 LS (which I still have - McLeod RST cured the high rpm lockout issues). Wonderful cars, very robust and amazing to drive. I do need the get the airbag recall done, though!

My 350R was supposed to be built this week actually but the factory shutdown probably will delay that. Oh well, in the grand scheme of problems in the world, this would be amongst the least significant.

Totally agreed on these terrific Boss 302 cars and regularly shifted them at the 7,500 RPM redline and enjoyed my 2012 LS cars a little better than the 2013 LS cars and that was based purely on the Black/Red color scheme on the 2012 along with the cool dash gauge package that only the 2012 came with.

I remember the airbag recall for both of the driver and passenger side airbags and you need to get that done!

Expect your R will be delayed a week or two with my R scheduled for later this month and suggest that it will be pushed out to early April similar to your car.

Suggest that your wait will be well worth the time for your R model as they are outstanding automobiles for the dollar IMO.
