The Dealer replaced my differential and it reduced the vibration to a tolerable level. But now about 10,000 miles later it backed in full bloom. I'm thinking maybe something is wearing the carrier bearing or its a bad design.

Mines getting bad. Seems to be around 2800 rpms. 55-70 mph zone. Fifth gear at 65 is the worst. This car ran so smooth in the beginning. Disappointed.

2017 GT Premium vibration.

I just purchased a new 2017 Mustang GT Premium 6 speed over the weekend. Before I bought it I took it on a test ride, but it was under 50 mph.
I will drive this car as my daily driver and it will be driven on average 1000 miles per week.
Today was my first day using the car and I noticed a lot of drivetrain vibration between 60-70 mph.
I can’t believe it. If I knew about this vibration problem, I wouldn’t have purchased this car.
I have had many Mustang GT’s and Super Duty pickups and I never had a problem like this.
I mean come on, it’s 2017 and Ford can’t build a IRS car that doesn’t have driveline vibration??
Absolutely ridiculous.
I’ll call the dealer tomorrow, but if they can’t fix it I’ll get rid of it and buy a Challenger Scat Pack 392. I heard those are really smooth with no vibrations.
Since I’m on the highway constantly, I can’t live with a vibration like this. Too annoying.
Oh well. What can you do.

You're gonna love the 392. In my opinion it's a true muscle car engine compared to the coyote. The 5.0 feels like a sports car where you have to wind out the engine to get any decent power. With the scat pack, it's instant torque. Just need some big tires. With stickies you can get 3.9 sec 0-60.

I was tired of ford jerking me around, so I got the charger scat pack. No regrets. I'm just on here giving advice to people going through the same issues as I went through

Update on my end. I figured I would start with trying to see if I could balance the DS using the hose clamp method. Once the car was jacked up (Had to use stands in my garage), I did a test to see where the issue was worst. Once I hit 50mph it started, at 60mph it was so bad I stopped as I felt the thing would vibrate right off the stands..... probably not, but man was it going.

Under the car, I noted that on the DS there were some tack welds, the yellow dot, some blue circles, and a super smooth spot, that was not rusted, the rest was rusted as usual. I almost wandered if one of the tack welds flew off at some point... Anyway, I chose a spot to start with the hose clamp, I split the distance between one of the tack welds and the yellow dot.
When I tested the car on the jack stands again, the active track was giving me fits (Had track off but guess I need to pull the fuse) but it felt pretty dang smooth. So I took it for a test drive and a little sunshine entered my heart, as the vibes were pretty much gone.

Once I headed to work I was able to get to interstate speeds. At 50 to 80, it is barely there, and then once you get above 80 you can hear it a little more, didn't go over 85 to see if it got worse. I am thinking I need to adjust the hose clamp some and should be good to go. Or at least thats what I hope, really do not want to deal with Ford and trying to get a new Diff put in......

I will post more as I progress. Thanks again for all the awesome info and feedback everyone. :headbang:

After going round and round with Ford a bbb for over a year. I got a vibration analyzer and diagnosed it myself. It indicated the rear end was the cause. So I replaced it with a ford racing iron 3.55 rear end. Problem solved!! No thanks to ford.
So you went with the iron casing as opposed to the aluminum? Was your reason just because that was available, or you chose to also "upgrade" while replacing the part?

I see you also have an EB, did you go with 3.55's for the Performance Pack or did you just replace factory gearing to your 'as built' gearing?

The complete rear diff was also replaced in my 2016 EB PP in June 2017 via Ford under warranty (so it was a new PP diff w/3.55's and non-iron casing); 5k miles later the vibe came back (my car has been fully documented in this thread numerous times). As of this writing, it's been at my Ford Service facility since August 15...

My original was an aluminum with 3.15 gears. Since I was going to have to spend my own money I decided I would upgrade to 3.55. I will be dissecting the original rear end in a couple of weeks to see what I can find.

Awesome to hear, I am in same boat as you for sure, just got this car and was super excited till the vibe issue started. Mainly at the way owners are being treated about it and no clear solution from Ford.

In all reality it is an amazing car for the price, seems like some of them were just not put together 100% correct and it is now up to the consumer to fix it. Nothing like MODS to get a "normal" car! hahaha.

Got my differential installed yesterday afternoon. Had to index driveshaft 180 degrees to eliminate vibration. Still, after all this it's faintly present but only as a quiet hum. The one piece shaft definitely smoothed out the car. If it stays like it is now I'll have no problem living with it as it is much improved. As a side note for those of you with auto transmissions, don't hesitate to go to the 4.09 gears. 2000 rpm at 56 mph isn't too much in my opinion. This motor likes to rev so let her eat. The gears are soooo much fun.
