Great article for the Mustang faithful. First Mustang I really remember was a family friend who bought a red 68 coupe. Bucket seats were a real big deal to a 10 yr old boy who normally rode around in the family ranch wagon, lol...
I do vintage restorations and custom painting and I like Meguiars 105 followed by 205 and then carnuba wax. You can use a generic orange waffle pad for both going from medium pressure to light pressure. I've found guys tend to use too much pressure and that causes the haze.
2013 Boss 302 in yellow is on my short list of all time best looking Mustangs along with the 67 fastback in dark moss green and the 69 Boss in yellow. The 550's are good looking cars but honestly, they blatantly copied the profile and grill from an Aston DB9.
If he's going to lease the M2, repair costs isn't an issue- should be under warranty for the 3 years of the lease unless he puts a lot of miles on it. Probably won't want to buy it at lease end since the residual will be stupid. I personally don't keep any new cars past the warranty since repair...
I still have the 20 Years of Mustang poster that the dealer gave me when I bought my 84 GT. So I'd guess the 60 yr car will come out sometime in the summer as a 24 model yr. But maybe a 25...
Oh yeah, went to vintage festival for 16 yrs in a row. Haven't been in the past couple years since it is just crazy crowded and parking is a complete mess. We always had a couple spots in the swap meet area, too. You're right, the museum is simply world class in every way and they've added all...
I don't work for them but a couple bikes I've done are in the museum- donated by a client who owned them. Most of the bikes I've done are in private collections.
Started out in aerospace as a flight test engineer, then bought a Suzuki shop and raced superbikes until it was obvious I wouldn't make it in the big time. Then a few years in ministry and now I restore vintage motorcycles which really doesn't pay much but is extremely gratifying (most of the...
I had a 18 F150 and it was horrible- clunky, jerky and generally a steaming pile of... The ZF that Chrysler uses is probably the gold standard. Super smooth in my Challenger and Ram. The 9sp in my Frontier is in between. Not as bad as the F150 but nowhere near as good as the ZF and it is a...
We have a local chain here in Atlanta called Butler Tire. They are where you go to get tires if you drive a Ferrari or Aston... Find out who in your city is like that and take it there. They will have no problem with a Mustang.
Was looking at a 15 anniversary edition with only 8k miles on it but after remembering the AC and driveline problems these cars have I think I will pass on it. Basically all of the 15-17 cars will have the AC go out at some point depending on how much it is used, etc. Too risky for me...
