did your unit retain the mustang logo on the start splash screen after the update to 3.4?FYI for those of you with older cars, I just updated my 2016 Tech Pack to Sync 3.4.20136 and Maps 1.9 using CyanLabs.
Their installer is very easy to use in order to create the proper USB thumb drive for this purpose.
The update pauses for long periods of time where it looks like it’s hung, but you just have to be patient. Mine took 25 min.

It retained the GT350 splash screen.did your unit retain the mustang logo on the start splash screen after the update to 3.4?
You can’t. The 2016 version of Sync 3 cannot be officially updated to 3.4 using Ford software. You can go to Cyanlabs and get it from them.Sorry for reviving a old thread but have a question. I have a 2019 F150 that has an update available for 3.4. What do you think the odds are I can use this on my 16 350?
I'm with you on this. I struggled to find a benefit from the upgrade and I finally decided to stay with 3.0. 3.4 seems to solve a problem we don't actually have.I got to ask... I cannot find any value in updating the 2016 gt350 to it and I'm a total geek. I plug in my phone to use CarPlay and none of the ford features gets used.... why would I want to go through the cyandlabs to get to 3.4?
You don't have to. The update is for those who prefer Sync's native interface to CarPlay.I got to ask... I cannot find any value in updating the 2016 gt350 to it and I'm a total geek. And you're permanently locked out from any updates from Ford. I'm still baffled why anyone would bother. You don't have to. The update is for those who prefer Sync's native interface to CarPlay.
Cyanlabs isn't for those who still receive updates from Ford. It's for those who don't.And you're permanently locked out from any updates from Ford. I'm still baffled why anyone would bother.
There are literally no more updates for cars after reaching 3.0 for cars built in 2016And you're permanently locked out from any updates from Ford. I'm still baffled why anyone would bother.
If the version you currently have meets your needs than that’s great. Many owners want the latest, greatest. If they do, Cyanlabs is there for them. As always , personal choice.I got to ask... Keep in mind that although the version hasn’t changed there have been many build updates over the years. There are literally no more updates for cars after reaching 3.0 for cars built in 2016
Agreed- for the 2016, the most reasonable upgrade is the console USB connector swap that allows Software Version 3.0 to be installed. Get your AA or CP going and call it a day. There are literally no more updates for cars after reaching 3.0 for cars built in 2016
