it doesn't look too bad. it really only makes noise when it first loads up. im hoping i can just take it easy for a few weeks and get her in. you can see the droop of the bolt. i read somewhere this happens cause the bolt is too small or something like that.

The bolt and bush are not very concentric are they …

If they didn't fix this for S650 I'm going to laugh, they've had sooooo long to address this design lol
I’m not so sure this was a unintentional mistake, but rather a planned compromise …

The tech that fitted my bolt sleeves and diff pucks commented that alignment was a little more tricky / critical as there was no play / wiggle room provided either by the bolt or the now less compliant bush.

It makes me wonder if the clearance is purposeful to allow for sloppy tolerancing and quick manufacture ?

Both of my upper bushings were toast, I replaced them and the cradle bushing with solid alum from bmr... the difference is night and day in the way the car handles.. Just another option..

Just pop in some urethane puck inserts, new bolts and bolt sleeves. Done.

Nope, base model
i think this might be the key. the performance models have shorter gears and stickier tires which routinely transfer more load to that bushing. the PP cars really probably should have had the stiffer GT350 bushings for sure.

That's what I did. I make aluminum sleeves for this, check my sig. They are compatible with pucks. The combo is pretty supportive. You still have to lower the cradle some to install them, though.

Probably some truth to that. To be fair though, I do have 285 summers out back (I have my stockers for winter duty). I don't have the shorter gearing, but I do have some grip compared to stock setup. I don't launch my car very often though. The most important factor is probably that I live at 4300 feet, so I'm down 60HP even at the best of times.

i would be if it weren't still under warranty. frankly this is insane that a bushing has failed for a differential in a car geared for performance. if this happens again I'll have them fix it again and then fill the thing to prevent it from happening in the future. I've seen videos of how much these things move, its crazy. I get we don't want NVH but we can't have things as simple as this failing either...

thankfully it isn't anything more than a little creak right now and i'll keep monitoring it in the 10 weeks i'm apparently going to have to wait for a loaner.
Problem is you have buyers that would bitch if the car had any NVH . Even buyers of performance pack units .So they have to build it for all buyers and let those that will deal with the NVH install aftermarket or Ford performance over the counter parts( if available).

i guess the bean counters figured it was cheaper to swap out subframes rather than deal with the headache of whiney bitches :D

Well
i guess the bean counters figured it was cheaper to swap out subframes rather than deal with the headache of whiney bitches :D
,when they swap subframes they tack a lot of extra msrp to the sticker making it worth it. Install a different stamping, casting that cost no more than the standard one other than the r&d. And charge thousands more for cars with it.
