Well I don't, the dealer does under warranty lol. But I HATE going for anything not absolutely essential.
I think a differential bushing would qualify as essential.

No, that's not the right part. That is a separate damper that only appears in certain engine configurations and in certain years.
Well there's a lot of options out there then.

All of the aftermarket options are significantly more rigid than the stock bushings and therefore all of them add NVH. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, for sure, which is why I strongly recommend getting or making sleeves so that the bolts fit more snugly. In stock form, they slop around a lot and in doing so they cause undue stress on the bushing.

I know, that's why I added sleeves. Anyways, these are just a little stiffer than OE. https://www.energysuspensionparts.com/4.1139. But like you, I like the OE bushings on the diff.

Not really given it's a small tear and no adverse effects have been noted. That's why I'm trying to avoid having to hand the car over for 5 years while they order and install an entire new subframe since you can't get the dumb ass bushings.

^^^I hear that. I was thinking that sleeves with a through bolt kit and steeda diff bushings would resolve a small tear.

I'm sure there are many opinions on that so let's hear them!

FWIW, I don't want to deal with bringing down the rear sub-frame again lol.

These are for MY18+. It seems some 15-17 cars use 1/2"-20 fasteners instead of 14mm
50mm (+0.33) long
14.0mm (-0.1) ID
17.3mm (?) OD

BMR makes theirs out of aluminum. And that's where I got the numbers from.

My Ford bushings are long since in a land-fill somewhere or smelted down so I don't have the ID of the Ford item to know how big the OD can go. I'm guessing the Ford ID is 17.5 or slightly oversized since they probably used a 11/16" drill bit. Had Ford used a 9/16" bit (14.3mm) there wouldn't be all these failures.

Hey Ford engineering, Learn how to read a freaking drill chart!

Great info, thank you :like:

Quick question based on the question mark you added - are you unsure on the OD, or unsure of what tolerance to apply ?

Cheers,

see updated post. I don't know the true ID of the Ford bushing the extra bushing slides into.

@WildHorse - I'm confused (it doesn't take much :cwl: ) or we just have crossed wires ...

1) Why long and short spacers ? I thought only the rear bushes needed these as per the Lethal kit ?

2) Your long spacers are a bit shorter than what @shogun32 quoted, but I guess thats not a problem as its only really there to aid centralisation / stop movment ?

3 ) I assume .063" OD and .054" ID should actually be 0.63" OD and 0.54" ?

4) The OD of 0.63" (16.00mm) is considerably different to what @shogun32 quoted (17.3mm) ?

I would have just bought the spacers from Lethal but they wont split the kit that contains them and adding the other bits bumps up the shipping and then attracts the Customs / Tax man when they get to the UK ... :frown:
