I too have just installed the CV Fabrication intercooler (all the way across the pond in the UK!). Just to echo what StangNoc posted earlier, after a lot of shopping around I have to say this appeared to offer the best quality part at the best price... and I wasn't disappointed. Easy install, great quality part and the intake temps have remained nice and low ever since.

Only issue I had was as previously mentioned, I had to open out to mounting hole of the MAF sensor as the hole was slightly out of line - I believe this has been rectified by CVF now anyway! Would definitely recommend this part!

UPDATE #2: I did a HPDE at Autobahn in Joliet, IL yesterday (full course), ambient temp low 90s. Overall, still very pleased with the performance of the engine with this intercooler, however, I did experience some heat soak induced power loss above 5500 rpms. Two factors contributed; 1) much warmer ambient temps, 2) track with lots of low speed corners and short straights, not providing as much opportunity to cool the intercooler.
I need to retract the above statement regarding heatsoaking with my aftermarket IC. It appears that it is excessive engine oil temp that is causing the ECU to pull boost. I was at the track yesterday and I was able to test this several times. Engine made full boost until the oil temp hit "yellow", then ECU pulled boost back to 10 psi at 5500. I backed off for a lap or two, got the oil temp down, and full power again until the temp crossed yellow again. So don't think there is an issue with the intercooler. I need to install an oil cooler.

Damn, my first question was if you have the power pack with the bigger radiator, and yep you do by your profile.

Sure its not another temp that also drops with oil temps? (although charge temps would drop WAY faster then oil temps)

Right, Perf Pack car. Coolant temp never moves beyond the middle of the gauge. Even the diff temp is not too bad (230-250). But the engine oil temp moves up pretty quickly. If the intercooler was heatsoaking, it would pull power irrespective of the engine oil temp. As far as I can tell, it's only pulling power when the oil temp moves into the "yellow" range.

It would be nice if someone out there with "intimate knowledge" of all of the safety functions programmed into the ECU could verify this.

Who's your tuner? you could datalog and send it to them and ask if you have a pro tune.

I have a 17 non performance pack ecoboost premium. I have the ford performance racing tune, and hks bov, catback exhaust.

I want to replace my FMIC with another one, I’m leaning towards Cpe because I like Cpe products.

any reason why I shouldn’t or another FMIC is better? Will I have ANY LOSS OF POWER? From pressure drop?

My car is a street car. My daily, but I’m looking for better intercooler to make my car happy for wot between lights and on ramps lol.

You will see no loss of power with a cpe.
Intercoolers maintain power. Huge race coolers may have a negative impact due to pressure drop, but any street intercooler will help you keep your power level since they will not heat soak like the POS factory unit.

I have a Mountune unit which is no longer made. Zero issues with a tune+ mod.

There’s no chance the ford tune will act negatively though? I don’t know if ecoboost are tuned for a certain feature that maybe the stock has, like the pressure.

I read someone said they lost 2psi Of boost from changing intercoolers, but didn’t specify brand

How does cpe stack up against the competition for FMIC? I like cpe products but if someone has a better product I will buy it.

Cpe is one of the best.
You get dumb asses who buy the biggest intercooler on the market with a mild tune, then cry like a baby when they lose power.
Cpe street delta core is an all win product.

The CPE will work just fine for what you want. The CP E is very well built and works nicely with my FP tune.

Noticed zero downsides after install?

did you have the intercooler before the tune or after? Did you notice a difference after installing it at all
