It looks to me the ATMs are very similar in build quality to the Vortech, if not identical. I'm assuming the $550 was a sale price which is half of what the Vortech is. I just emailed the owner of the performance shop I take it to for his opinion on the cp-e and the ATM.
Call Ambient Thermal Management (ATM) and talk to Dave. Really great guy and gave me a deal on a "BLEM" unit. Let me qualify this by saying that when they classify a unit as a blemish unit, it is because there might be a defect in the powder coating where the coverage is thin or there might be several fins that need straightening. If you want to go that route, he will send you pictures of the unit and the defect spots, before you agree to a transaction. They are more OCD about quality than I am, and that's saying something!

CVF Intercooler installed. Took about 2 hours. Most of that is just removing bolts. Lol.

~$340 shipped. Came in a few days. Fits stock location with shutters. Sensor mount hole was about 2 mm off ; had cut the sensor plastic housing a bit. No instructions in box, but not needed with so many resources on the net.

As far as stock location intercoolers go, I felt this was the best quality for the price point.

Appreciate the kind words in the detailed shout-out!

We're very well aware of the sensor mount issue and have made the changes to the design file for future revisions - we'll do better for you guys, I promise!

Instructions are on the way as well, but please feel free to reach out via PM with any questions. :like:

Sooooooo...the IC I just got in the mail Friday.... Would it happen to be one of the revised ones lol? Or should I tell the guy who's gonna install mine here ahead of time that's it's off a bit? I didn't even open the box yet as I've been running around all weekend.

It hasn’t been a significant enough issue to impede installation on any of the units sold, but please let me know if you have any issue and we’ll be sure to take care of you - this one is on us!

The CVF unit looks really nice! Definitely a good option if keeping the shutters intact.

UPDATE - I just got back from a two day HPDE at Road America. I am happy to report that the new intercooler performed flawlessly. I was able to maintain max boost (20-22 psi) without any problems, zero heatsoak issues during 30 min run sessions. It was a cool weather (50s), but I know the stock intercooler couldn't do this. Very happy!
UPDATE #2: I did a HPDE at Autobahn in Joliet, IL yesterday (full course), ambient temp low 90s. Overall, still very pleased with the performance of the engine with this intercooler, however, I did experience some heat soak induced power loss above 5500 rpms. Two factors contributed; 1) much warmer ambient temps, 2) track with lots of low speed corners and short straights, not providing as much opportunity to cool the intercooler.

Does anyone know if you can still install a Mishimoto engine oil cooler with this style intercooler installed (since it extends up in front of the radiator)?

I looked at the install video for the Mishimoto engine oil cooler and with the provided brackets, that would be a no. The kit is made to work with intercoolers that fit in the factory location, not with a larger stepped intercooler. However, it looks like if you extended or fabricated new brackets to move it away from the radiator to clear the top portion of a large stepped intercooler and allow the hoses to clear also, it could be made to fit.
