No, they're just too big to use stock components, like downpipes, intakes, etc. The monster kits will be 800+ hp setups.
Any guess on 800+ set ups? 3.5/k ish?

also assuming i have the ic cai and dp, what would the rods and pistons cost to purchase and install?

799... But you're looking at a grand or more labor if you can't build an engine yourself. If you're building the bottom end, you should go ahead and replace valve springs and do a Balance shaft delete as well. I'd budget 2500ish.

so verify this:

$3K for 800hp turbo
$800 for rods and valves
$2500 to have rods installed

$6300=for whole set up (assuming I have CAI, IC and DP)

sound right?

3k is just the turbo, you'll need a new IC, DP, and probably some other things. 3k is too much for just a turbo. You should give FFTEC a call. They can point you in the right direction as far as costs and such.

Edit: Sorry, skipped over the part where you said assuming you already have DP etc.

I think you're getting in above your head. Anything above a 5858 kit from MAP and you're going to be looking into a new clutch, new fuel system, etc. Adam is talking nearly 400hp on the stock bottom end safely with their setup, with room to grow up to 500hp if you decide to build the bottom end. The 799 is just rods and Pistons, the valve spring solution has yet to hit the market.

There are a lot of valve springs and retainers available...unless you mean a no-brainer 'kit' where someone has figured out all the parts and charged a premium for doing so?

To add to that the limit of the stock springs isn't 100% known and the cams are small. If you replace springs you might as well do the cams and then port the head and and...

Need to establish a goal and work towards it. Of course I'm a firm believer in too much is just enough so I'll be working towards that... ;)

Adam at MAP said the stock springs have about 50 lbs on the seat. That's not very much...esp when increasing boost any.

I agree completely with doing it all at once.

Does anyone do custom cams for any of this 4 cylinder DI turbo stuff?

Fullrace said they are working with two vendors on cams. Also just saw that Ferrea has a full line of vavletrain parts for the ecoboost available now. Sent an email for details because nothing is on their site.

So I could buy a 600-800 HP screw, dial it down to whatever my current configurations can support, then dial it up gradually as I do the bootom end work?

Yes. I'm going to be using an EFR 8374 which should be good for 750-800 but I won't be there for a while.

You need to be sure you have an external wastegate big enough to keep the boost low. You're also going to be giving up quite a bit of powerband at no gain for a while.

You should check FFTECs build thread. The 8374 is just fine. And I don't mind losing the super low rpm torque, it actually makes the car difficult to get good mileage IMO.

Edit: Also everything I have seen on the EFR turbos shows that their IWG's handle lower boost just fine. Anyway, there will be a build thread with all the details when I have stuff to actually show off.

Maps car has different valve springs so yes there available. I will be passing on the turbo upgrade since I was told at the time my car got done don't worry everything will work you will not to upgrade anything.
