Well Ford have just bought back my 2019 GT having had three engine failure recoveries back to the dealership and 8 weeks battle to get them to do something about it. (All fueling related)

I collect my new 2020 Bullitt this week that I've bought with the refund / bit more of my own cash. As soon as I get it home I'll be dropping some oil out to put 150ml of ceratec in.

I have a 2017 GT/PP with the tick since first oil change. Currently about 18k on the odo. I put it 150ml of ceratec and it almost instantly disappeared. I've put on about 1000 miles since I poured it in, and still no tick. Runs sewing machine smooth now.

Old thread I know.

After 7 oil changes and 33,000 miles I was good with no tick.

After the 8th last week it suddenly appeared. It is really only annoying when I am in the garage where everything is amplified.

I am going to get me a bottle of this to see what happens. Can't hurt.

I am a believer and see it work first hand. My first 18gt was really quite from mile 1 until i sold it around 60,000 miles. I picked up a 20,000 mile 18GT with a Roush stage 2 a few months back. When i left the dealer and on the test drive everything was quite. A few weeks later BBQ tick like crazy in my garage. I added one bottle a few days after my first oil change and everything has been quite since. Normally i am pretty skeptical on snake oil products, but this actually works.

Good to know. It has only been a week since the change so I will get a bottle from Amazon in a day or two.

Agreed. I have to wonder what the hell is going on that could be solved by something like this. Of course, I could be totally hosed and don’t know it yet.
ive been using ceratek for prob over 30k miles and hasnt skipped a beat yet. ive also tried different brands and weights of oil and always ended up with the tick and cerarek has been the thing to keep it at bay

That leads credence to the theory that the tick is really due to air bubbles that are getting caught/generated in the engine then. If I recall ceratek makes it harder for those to form. It also points to why its not really any big deal if there is a tick or not as some air small bubbles if they are being popped isn't going to lead to any damages since the oil is still coating where the bubbles had been. It would also impact why some people don't hear it at first, just after an oil change, or only hear it sometimes based on how much/placement of the oil residue.

So strange to me that this works, I'd love to know what's going on inside the engine and why this has an affect on it. Somehow my engine doesn't tick, even post 1st oil change. Probably means it's gonna blow up but oh well lol
Me as well... '21... I stand by the closed hood and can barely know it is running.

I went with 5W-30 synthetic motorcraft oil on my last oil change. Still got the tick...put another bottle of Ceratic in the motor, tick gone. I think I am just going to buy a case of this stuff so every oil change I have it. That tick is annoying as hell...

Not only is the tick gone but the whole motor just seems smoother and quiter.

Since it's only 300ML do you put it in on top of the 10 quarts?

Yea I did, it still didn't register over the line after the oil change. Its right under the top line. Also my Coyote uses about 1 litre of oil every 1400 miles or so, so its really a non issue for me.

Do you really think that you would hear air bubbles pop in the oil ? Do you think it would be loud enough to hear like the tick? I have my doubts. I would believe piston slap or cylinders out of round a tinny bit. But I can’t imagine oil bubbles being that loud.

Someone before posted a video/link about it, it's more that you're hearing resonance through the metals of it popping. If I remember its in the oil pump.

supposedly the older ford trucks had oil cavitation (bubbles) and would make similar noises if my memory serves me correctly.
