Do you need to use it at every oil change or is it a one time thing?

It should be safe to use at every oil change if you want to, however Ceratec recommend at every 30.000 miles right after oil change should be good enough.Do you need to use it at every oil change or is it a one time thing?
OK, cool . For me, that would be once every 6 years!!It should be safe to use at every oil change if you want to, however Ceratec recommend at every 30.000 miles right after oil change
The correct dosage is two cansHello all! As an owner of what may be the highest mileage 2019 GT pretty much anywhere right now (38,000 miles) I had completely resigned myself to the bbq tick. It ticked from new. It ticked hot, it ticked cold. It ticked.
Regarding the mileage:
I drive my car year round, thanks to Blizzaks, and put a lot highway miles down. My car burns about a quart every 5000 miles and has been (other than a mis balanced drive shaft) completely flawless.
On my last oil change I popped in a can of Ceratec, half expecting to kiss my $25 goodbye, or worse.
Thing is, that junk actually worked. The bbq tick is gone. I’m frankly shocked that a product actually did...something.
Here’s a very brief video of my experience.
I use 5-30 Royal Purple now but I’ve tried 0-40, 5-50 and of course the Motorcraft 5-20. Nothing about the oil viscosity seemed to change the nature of the tick.Curious as to what oil and weight you are using and if you’ve always used the same or have you experimented a bit prior to using the Ceratec?
Yes. I figured if I was going to screw up my motor I’d do it a little at a time. One can has done what I wanted however. The correct dosage is two cans
True. I did have the tick with the new Royal Purple before the additive, but I guess the effect with old oil would be interesting.pity we don't have a control group which is add a bottle to OLD engine oil. As written there are 2 variables at play. New oil AND the additive. It would be interesting to see if after the next 3 oil changes (no additive) when/if the tick comes back.
Owners have added Ceratec to their cars both when changing the oil and after the oil has been in the car for awhile. Oil doesn't appear to be a defining factor. The only factor of interest is does Ceratec lessen the noise of the tick. The overwhelming answer is yes. If you have the tick, try it. If you don't, it certainly cannot hurt.True. I did have the tick with the new Royal Purple before the additive, but I guess the effect with old oil would be interesting.
There are posts regarding different tests people have conducted, but they are likely buried in the massive tick threads...pity we don't have a control group which is add a bottle to OLD engine oil. Good to know. I'm going thin with 0W-20 Castrol Edge Extended Performance so we'll see how it goes. I don't have the tick and though I bought used with the car at 5,500 miles, and I'm now at 6,800 he oil monitor is at 84% so it seems like the car has had a post break in change, still with no tick. Here's hoping...I use 5-30 Royal Purple now but I’ve tried 0-40, 5-50 and of course the Motorcraft 5-20. Nothing about the oil viscosity seemed to change the nature of the tick.
