Question for Ceratec Users

I have been using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30, I used in my F150 with the Gen 3 coyote for 100k miles with good results, Ceratec every change on it as well.. Haven't been able to find it from my usual place online lately, probably switch to Mobil 1 next time as it is much easier to find at Wally World and cheaper too.

Yep that Ultra Platinum seems hard to get in my area too. And the price gouging on it is ridiculous. Gonna try and find some for the next change anyway though!

You won’t regret it.

I also found it to be useful to get the car up to operating temp before taking it out. (This is probably common sense but in today day and age we’re all use to getting in a car and driving it immediately) so I’ve been adapting to leaving the car running for a bit after a cold start to get it up to temp. Before taking off.

Yada yada I got the tick on my new 22GT. Added the magic juice, and it went away. For about 1k miles. Now its back. Im due for another oil change so I will start fresh with new oil and another bottle added in after the fact, but the tick is back. Not as bad though.

It only comes around after i've been out beating on the car real hard. Like logging WOT runs and whatnot. Not from normal driving. But it has returned in limited capacity.

you need 2 bottles, not 1.. It is 1 bottle per 5 quarts of oil.

depends... if one uses it to suppress bbq tick thenyou only need enough to suppress it. And you can reuse remains for the next oil change.

Lol.. I changed my oil yesterday, the first time since adding the ceratec and forgot I put it in there, my heart skipped a beat as I watched it drain... until I remembered that I added it last oil change.

how many miles between oil change?

i only add around 150ml which is more like a unfiltered beer to begin with. After 3+ thouthand miles it is just as black as regular used oil.

1 bottle of Cera Tec per oil change is all I currently need to keep the tick at bay. I tried less but it didn't get the job done until I was at more or less a full bottle of it.

it was only 1,000 miles between the oil change… changed it at the end of the year when I put it away. Drove it a few times to work and changed it after the blower install.

So does the supercharger change engine operating temperatures or bearing clearances? Asking for a friend.

Truth, and with the trillion acre facilities they built all over most Metro areas, stuff like this shows up to my door as quickly as it would had I gone out and got it myself.

Just got my oil changed and that tick is making me tick, so I'm thinking of throwing in a bottle of Ceratec. Do you guys use the full 10 quarts of oil and just dump the Ceratec in, or do you use less oil? Any risk of overfilling?

Side note: Been toying with the idea of 5w30 on the next oil change. I live in Georgia, so temps are blazing in the summer and winters are a crap shoot (several days of 40s to low 50s, then milder days. Hover around and below freezing in the mornings). Would 5w30 be ok to use year-round in our climate?

I only need 1/3 of the bottle or 100ml. One bottle lasts me 3 oil changes.

Thanks for reply! I have always put in 2 bottles after oil changes regardless, ever since that tick started 2500 miles right before i added blower. Car has 13k miles on it now. I changed oil every 5k miles or sooner based upon driving style and that smart oil thingee.. so it depends.

P.S. After dumping 2 bottles in tick is completely gone.
