full tread A052 is usually the right answer. If it is cold and raining hard, ECS02 is definitely faster. Surprisingly, if it’s cold enough and raining hard enough, an all season starts to be competitive. One thing about A052 is that you don’t want to go super wide. 295 is definitely hydroplane limited.
I was second fastest thing during this miserable cold day:
295 half dead yokos. A mini on fresh ECS02 was killing me. There have been warmer rain days where I FTD or near FTD on yokos and ECS02 gang is in the dust.
edit: and I’ve seen lots of data that RZ isn’t it in the rain. Might be less bad than tires of the past, but not “good”.
