Do you have them mounted already ? Would you mind measuring diameter once mounted ?
Someone said they're 25" which is hella short compared to typical 25.5-25.6".
Wow yeah, unmounted they're a good 1" shorter diameter than my mounted 315/30R18 A052s.

I wanted to try them but this would lower 2nd gear speed to probably ~64ish (too lazy to calculate) and possibly cause some ride height issues too...

Yeah, its unfortunate. My top speed is already as low as I want it to be. I woulda gotten the '19s if I'd checked that.

I flipped the 318 18 Vitours for a small loss. Gonna go with the 305 19s.

i may pick another set of 18” A052s for that lightweight forged set of wheels because racecar.

If you could measure 19" when you get them and have them mounted.... :)

I am considering a set because they do seem legit but measurements Dallas posted don't seem to be too accurate. But even if 19"s are half an inch short, that's not too bad.

man, the GRM article or whichever listed them as even worse than the Falkens in wet conditions. I didnt know you could get worse than Falkens in the rain lol.

the local guy who bought them asked about wet weather and now I dont want to tell him lol.

I agree even if the 19s are short they’ll probably be big enough.

with Vitours having bad wet grip, do I even want to take the chance on Vitours at Nats? There’s usually plenty of time to spray down a set of A052s between runs for a single driver car at nats so I’m not worried about them getting too warm unless its 110 ambient. Win if its dry but loose if it rains is a tough gamble.

I think contingency (which is tire purchase credit - not cash - which I think some are missing).

Personally I'd definitely not take Vitours with me as the only tire. There were enough dry Nats in a row that sooner or later it's going to rain - and it will be just enough that Yoks or Stones will be faster than Conti or Michelin.

When it rains at Nats, it all boils down to luck of the grid spot and the drying course. I've been at the starting line when it just turned wet enough that no matter what - from then on the runs would be slower than my previous ones. Just how it goes. I've also lucked out at a non-Nats event and had a drying course and put down a killer time even compared to the fully dry heat that followed. But, you DO want to be on the right tires for that case and normally I'd say the Yok has the least downsides, especially if it's cold or a little wet.

The problem with the Yoks is how well do they work in the dry and heat when there's a lot of BStone or other rubber down like you get at Nats. Sam rolled the dice with Yoks last year and I think he would have rather been on almost anything else. It just seemed like they aren't as happy with Bridgestone rubber down. I think Shotz was on Yoks and switched to BStones on his last run and went almost a second faster. It's part of the game I guess.

I'm waiting for the V1s to prove themselves. Dallas is great at talking them up but I still think it's early days for them.

C'mon the new 660s will be unbeatable, especially with the same rubber compound 😂

If houscca runs nats, they will cancel the event for rain and hopefully have a makeup at some point down the road. And refund you. (I'm still annoyed I had top raw and pax and they cancelled the event mid way, heat 3 of 4).

Honestly I think Yokes are fine in the dry and heat, if you spray. But maybe the stones would have an edge there, IDK.

i wonder how much of the Vitour track lap times is only from the effects of smaller diameter tires resulting in shorter gearing. That shouldn’t be a huge factor for autox but I wonder things like that.

i need to pick a summer tire for local events. Plenty of heat. Maybe CRS? Or just go stones?

I love my stones, I have 4 or 5 track days on them, plus 5-6 autox events, and I still have tread. I refused to spray them at all last summer, and they handled the heat like a champ. AT ECR last summer, they did start to let off due to heat 15 minutes into a 20 minute session, but the let off was so controlled and predictable, you could drive around it. The tires are at end of life now, and the grip is still far above any beyond the 660, to the point I am still putting in new PB at MSR. It's certainly less than it was on new stones, but it's still great.

For reference I am running the 305/19. I really wish Bridgestone would make an adult size RE-71 though. At least a 315/19, and probably a 325/19 too.

I am jumping to the CRS 325 next.

I have been eyeing the stones for this year to replace the A052's after our first few events. I too wish they made a good big boy size. The lack of available competitive 315 and 325 19" tire options is what's held me back from dumping the money into another set of wider wheels.

Suspension is all in the car and alignment completed. Was hoping to shake down the new setup this weekend, but with severe thunderstorms all weekend we're going to have to wait a bit longer it appears. Drove the car back home about 40 minutes through traffic and noticed the passenger side front reservoir was a bit warmer than the driver's side. Thinking it's getting a little extra cooked by the coolant reservoir bottle.

Considering cutting a small slot in the front upper grill area to let air up through the hood latch area just to promote some airflow over them and I figure I've got enough hood venting to not worry about it affecting me too negatively. Although if anyone has any tips for insulation/heat reflection products for the reservoirs, i'm open ears.
