I had a SS Vert when I went to Cali back in ‘17, made my old Ecoboost vert feel weak even with all the bolt ons, suspension bits and tune
Yes, I've seen a lot of current vehicles on Mecum auctions that go for over MSRP by a huge amount! I swear some guys buy these new vehicles and then auction them off as they all had very low mileage (like you would if you test drove a new car on the dealer's lot).
The toughest part of being an enthusiast is usually you have to make a choice. Thanks GM for keeping it all interesting.
Yeah unfortunately the number of car enthusiasts is declining at a fairly rapid pace. Most people don’t seem to care what they drive and starting to see high school kids that don’t even want to get their license. Trying to do my part with my son who will be 15 in a few months. At least as of right now, he is very much interested in cars, and performance cars in particular. Keep the flame alive!
Maintenance and repairs will depend on whether the manufacturer uses good components or whether they cheap out. Kind of similar to an ICE car. You still have moving parts, you still have a frame, body panels, suspension, bearings, etc. All of that stuff can go wrong.
The biggest difference is that the battery is probably the single most expensive part of an EV. Based on my vast 45 years of working with various types of equipment that uses rechargeable batteries, despite the various different chemistry improvements throughout those years, NIMH, NICD, LION etc.I have not ever ONCE seen any battery operated equipment that has not slowly deteriorated over charging life. Usually starts deteriorating measurably though not necessarily perceptibly the first six months of continuous use. So, yup, while that shiny Tesla is wonderful now, one day all you’ll be able to do is zero to 60 to the next block and then get towed.
I hear the challenger will only have a garbage sounding V6. Might as well go out all together like the Chevy.
They already blew it with Blazer, so why not ruin Camaro too....

The Blazer was never in the same stratosphere of an icon as the Camaro. The return of the Blazer as a FWD crossover was weak, but nothing compared to if GM brings back the Camaro as a 4 door EV as is rumored (hopefully it's just that - a rumor). But the 90s Blazer wasn't all that, anyway.
The real Blazer was renamed the Tahoe, and then they slapped the blazer name on the SUV version of the S-10.
