Hey guys! I am looking at getting a set of quick jacks in the near future. For those that have them what would you say is the ideal model of them for the S550 Mustang?

I searched the forum and saw some posts about the 5000TLX. I also called Quickjack and they also recommended the 5000TLX.

Do these jacks go high enough to facilitate removing a transmission?

Yep, should be no problem. I used my 5000 to remove a transmission from a 2006 subaru forester and I had at least an extra 10-12 inches to spare sliding it out the front.

Mines right about 21” - 22”, if I remember correctly when I did my 15’ MT-82 on jack stands with the MGW shifter mounted I needed about 24” and I barely cleared so I would assume you could without the shifter installed or add some taller pads to get it high enough to leave the shifter installed. Since mines the 7K I’m not sure how high the 5K actually raises the car

The 5000TL will do fine for Mustangs.

However if you may use it on another vehicle I strongly recommend you go through their measurement procedure to help you decide.

I chose 7000TL for use with our ST. Combo deal with height extenders direct from QJ beat Costco deal.

5000tl here, love mine. wish I would have gotten them sooner. However, be sure when you use them to place the hose connect end to the rear of the car. So when you lift the car will move forward as you lift. Due to the way the work the most weight is to the front. So don't place like post #2 but place like post #4. More support for the front, safer due to angle of the lift. If you look at post #4 you can see what I mean by the angles of the lift arms.

The problem with the quick jack we use on the race car is it is impossible to work under the car with it in place

I have the QJ 7000TL and love it. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Looking back on it, I should have bought the 7000 TLX to accommodate my Explorer ST.

I bought mine directly from Quickjack. Robert was very helpful working out the details of the shipping to Puerto Rico.

Ok, I think if I get the 5000TL I will be able to use it on my Mustang and then my Wife's Jeep Wrangler as the curb weight is about 4,400lb.
