Did you go with the RTD tuning device? I know you said E85 wasn’t readily available, but did you tell Lund you want to tune for E85 too? They normally include this with the initial cost if the customer wants it, but if you wait, you’ll have to pay a fee to have it done later.

I hope you remembered to tell them that your IMRCs are locked out, so they can turn them off in your tune(s).

Okay, I do believe I am now pissed off. I am replacing the 2018 intake that is currently on the Mustang with one from a 2016 GT at the same time as I am doing the Lund 91 tune. I am also replacing the 47 lb injectors with new stock ones. I have new plugs to go in it too and plan on changing the oil shortly after it's up and running again.

So, I mosied on out to the workshop this morning to remove the existing 2018 manifold so I am all set when the 2016 manifold arrives. No issues removing the 2018 manifold. However, when I lifted up the intake I thought "That's odd... what is that shiny piece that is just sitting there in cylinder 6?". I pulled it out and then thought "WTF????".

So, WTF is this? Looks very similar to the end of a garden hose.

With not a hint of apparent irony, I bought this 2016 Mustang from Mint Auto Sales in Orlando, Florida. When I inform the sales person of the ongoing issues, the only response is "I'm sorry."

Wow! I can understand your frustration. That‘s a very large nipple to have been missed by whomever installed the intake manifold. I wonder if it was a blatant case of sabotage? It looks like a nipple for a CAI. In fact, here’s one from my PMAS that looks similar to what you found in your engine.

I’ll bet that thing rattled like crazy and caused your knock sensors to go haywire and pull timing. Definitely a valid reason the be pissed.

And to finding this when replacing the intake manifold, their response was a succinct "Wow".

Sorry for your troubles, that is absolutely ridiculous. Whatever that piece is, it looks like it took a beating on the large end.

That dealership looks like a classic example of what to avoid with a 2.75 out of 5 star rating from 188 reviews….

I thought I had it all sorted out beforehand. I thought wrong. I hate it when my generally trusting nature comes back to bite me on the ass like this. At my age I should know better. Likening the three Florida dealerships involved in the chain of events that led up to me buying this car to an organized crime family is an insult to organized crime families everywhere.

The tuner and 2016 manifold arrived today. Time to put things back together and watch the plague of locusts fly out of the tailpipes when I next try to start it.

Just for good measure, I’d be inclined to hook a shop vac up to each port and make sure they’re all clear of debris.

It’s no wonder why the dealer wasn’t at all interested in helping you find out the history on the car. At least now, you’re uncovering things before they turn into worse problems. Hopefully you’re nearing the end of all the trouble you’ve been dealing with.

Yup, already done. I hit every nook and cranny I could reach. Lots of sand in spots, almost like this car lived in southern Florida. Up here you'll find rust and cheese instead.

I know there are a lot of happy previously-used Mustang owners, but this along with the stupid high prices are why i'd never buy a used mustang, or at least from a place that has no return policy.

I'm sure Green Bay is the same as here. I mean I can swing a dead cat and hit a mustang for sale. I have no idea why the OP bought from a dealer 1500 miles away.

OP here: Sure, there are lots of pre-2015 around here with 150K miles, 2015+ > $30K for a base GT, wrong color, wrong transmission, 6 owners, etc. After many months of looking, this one ticked most of the boxes for me. I really wanted another Screaming Yellow 2016 GT Premium but could not find one with a non-outrageous price. I have purchased multiple other cars from out-of-state and had it work out great.

In this case, despite it being low miles from a no-salt/snow state, two-owner with an accident-free and clean CarFax, there were many things that were missed (not disclosed that the car had an E85 tune, 2018 intake and no tuner came with, I didn't think to ask this question), mis-stated (I directly asked multiple times for confirmation that the exhaust was 100 percent stock and was told it was, only to find out not a bit of it was stock...lth, hi-flow cats and MBRP catback), unreported accident (e.g. at least one accident at the front right corner not showing up on the CarFax).

There is no way in hell that I should have taken the saleman's solemn word on it that the car was mint mint mint, runs awesome and that there's no way I will not absolutely love it. But like an idiot, I did. So now I am going to make the best of it.

But the rest of you, please be smarter than I was (low bar indeed) and keep your distance from this dealership.
