Doesn't make my car faster, louder or handle better, just looks cool. It's a Ford Performance Shift knob (M-7213-M8B). Slight gap between collar and knob which according to LMR (I bought it from them) is normal.

Good choice of car.
…so it’s now normal for parts not to fit correctly? Seriously….

I actually passed on the shift knob because of the install and it not sitting correctly.

Makes me wonder why the Ford Performance Carbon Fiber knob fits perfectly and this one doesn't?

$120 shift knob and it doesn't fit right?.. My $38 knock off from Amazon fits beautifully.. Feels great and priced right. I would be PISSED spending $120 on a shift knob and fitting like shit.

Apparently some shift knobs made by Ford do fit like that. There was a similar discussion about the OEM Bullitt shift knob some time ago, which had the same problem. And indeed, believe it or not, Ford considers it normal (which is hardly surprising).
The FP carbon fiber knob fits perfectly, though.
Third-party shift knobs usually have longer threads. I've yet to hear about one of those having this issue.

It does not. Mine sits low and there is no gap. I‘ll update with a pic later this morning…

I am not understanding your reply. Are you saying you have the same knob as the OP and it fits correctly? I asked since you quoted my post, which refers to the Carbon Fiber knob and me wondering why one would fit correct and the other not. I never stated that the knob in question does not fit correctly.

I was talking about the carbon fiber shift knob. Here are a few pics of how mine sits.

I kept cranking it down and spinning it until I was happy with the results. I figured if I broke it, I’d learn a $90 lesson

I had to go look at mine since it's the same as what you did. There is a small gap, but you have to get down low to see it. I can't when in the drivers seat, so it doesn't bother me. I cant tighten it anymore or the shift pattern print would not be clocked correctly.

Yes, I was saying the carbon fiber knob fits great and the knob the OP posted doesn't seem to fit great, by what he stated.....his knob is not the carbon fiber one.

I have the FP knob (but black) and it sits fine, I even sanded the bottom off it (it was finished a bit rough) which would make the OP’s problem worse.

I'm seeing the comments about the cost of the shift knobs seen here ... $120 for a non-lather wrapped, white cue-ball style shift knob? What material is it made of that it costs so much? Marble?

I'll just add;

Be wary of installing a GT350 shift knob. The AM versions fit terribly, and that metal plate on top gets hot as hell during the summer. Burning hot. Untouchable.
