A stock 2016 SS is very fast right off the lot, but that's all it has going for it. The problem is that it is too expensive for its market and it isn't an attractive car. An S550 GT on the other hand is fast, sold at a reasonable price point and is visually stunning. Even people overseas in entirely different cultures are going nuts over the new Mustang. And if you want to take care of that performance gap, a standard set of bolt-ons will eliminate the one advantage a stock SS has over a stock GT. The Coyote responds well to bolt-on mods like intakes/tunes/headers, and very well to heavy mods like forced induction. If you are really concerned about racing alpha platform Camaros, you can sink a little $$$ into some performance mods and close the gap, spending less than had you bought an SS.
