The skilled driver in a GT350 is gonna destroy the average driver in a GT500 on a road course. Period.
That's like saying a professional line backer will kill a pop warner player. Period.:facepalm:Yea no sh!t.

The generational labeling scheme is really only used in pop culture. Researchers no longer look at "generations" as being distinct, easily definable entities. The lines between the post-boomer sets are too blurred chronologically and culturally. The only reason the idea of a "baby boomer" generation is somewhat relevant is because the post WW2 population explosion was more sharply punctuated than the average growth rate. The boomers were tracked because of the significant impact on the economy that introducing such a large influx the workforce all at once would have. Because people like to simplify their thinking with easy to define labels and categories, the trend of naming and defining generations continued.

The argument over when X, Y, Z, etc start has also gotten so muddled as to become irrelevant. You might even be considered a "millennial" depending on the model. Because of the popularity of the topic, some of the definitions and labels have been retconned to include more birth years. Basically if you've experienced the 2000's as a young adult to middle aged, the millennial label applies.

I will also defer to my previous statement of "I work for living god damn it" :cwl:

...ur a milenial, now where my avacado toast at, I'm late for a tick tock challenge :puke:
Yeah! You'll think it doesn't matter until you walk into that Social Security office and find out you're in the wrong generation.

Shit man, I don't want kids even looking at my lawn.

Isn't that the theme of this thread?
10ish years ago a guy was walking his little furry rat of a dog and let it pee and poop in my front yard constantly. One day I was home for work and actually caught him in the act. Grabbed a BB gun and went out there. Guy was freaking out thinking I was gonna shoot his dog, I put 3 BBs into his thigh before he was out of my front yard. Low power older than me BB gun and he was wearing jeans so at best he got some welts. Never walked his dog down my street again. Mostly, I'm a calm, collected, push over that avoids confrontation. Mess with my lawn or get my food order wrong and I hulk out irrationally lol.

And kids suck, they ruin everything. Don't and wont ever have any.

The wife was just telling me the grass is needing to be cut. Tactical error on my part, she'll have to push the mower next to my covered car in the garage. I should have planned for that before this work trip. She jokes about being divorced for scratching my car, she's the only one that laughs though.

So why did Ford only offer a manual in the GT350 if there is so much demand for autos?
The DCT wasn't available, and the A10 still wasn't going to like either the Voodoo's rpm range or its vibration characteristics.

The GT500 is purely for track times rather than driver involvement, so the GT500 is for people who track their car
I'm going to clarify this part to suggest that it'll be for people who track their cars in timed competition. Plus a few that simply have to "win" their HPDE session no matter how much it takes.

Beyond that, most of the usual reasons for getting a car with, say, the A10, are still going to apply.

Just imagine how many years in prison you’d get today for such an act. Assault with a deadly weapon at the very least. Maybe even attempted murder here in Jersey. Mine you, I’m not judging. I’m a big fan of swift and blinding violence under the right circumstances.

For sure! Can't doing anything like that today. I got a complaint from my HOA because of my dog (in the house!) barking at a dog in my front yard. Wife and I were running errands or something and person walking their dog actually complained. Wish I knew who it was so I could constantly walk my dog in their yard...and throw a bunch of bird seed on their cars. People now days freak out when they see someone...that's it, just see another human.

Being that I'll be renting an A10 car in the nearish future. What are some fun things to do specific to the 4 gears faster transmission? For instance, in the M6, one of my favorites is to get to about 4500-5k in second and then fly to Mexico. Usually lift at the top of 3rd or once I get into 4th and then leisurely shift into 5th, then 6th while decelerating to a not so noticeable speed. There are some great canyon roads to carve in Colorado and I can't wait to hear even the factory exhaust bouncing off the mountains.

Taking them to the Superbowl right now :cwl::ontheloo:

Drag mode if it has it. Also, the downshifts in sport mode are fantastic. In general, just let the transmission do its thing. The extra gears will keep it in the powerband for what feels like forever. Don't bother with the paddles. Too much delay, and you won't have it long enough to really get comfortable with them.
Yeah used paddles on my test drive before I got mine and didn't like them much. From what you and others saying to just let the A10 do it's thing, I'm starting to get excited to drive it for more than like 20 minutes. Gonna spend as much of the weekend I have it in Mexico as I can. This Colorado weather needs to warm up first though!

How about learning to drive the new manuals? My ā€˜19 rev-matches and it’s pretty good at it. I heel-toe my daily (ā€˜97 328is) but I love that my Mustang does it for me! It’s very satisfying to nail a downshift on your own but can be disastrous if you get it wrong. I’m not driving my car hard yet but, so far, I think I’ll be able to grab a downshift smoothly under hard braking. That’s a skill that used to take a lot of seat-time to develop. Then there’s another feature that helps with a situation that terrified me when I started driving: Stoplight on a steep hill with some car pulled up 3 inches off your bumper. I was super happy when I learned the Mustang won’t roll back. I conclude from all this that technology will make manuals better and more fun, not make them go away.

You're not a little bit concerned that in learning to let the Mustang do the rev-matching for you that you might carry it over to driving your 328? Serious question; "muscle memory" can be a bitch.

I'll give you "easier", which probably would make it more fun for more people. At least while they're getting started with the whole business of "driving stick".

On hill start assist . . . me, I'd rather not have to adapt myself to some module insisting that I need its help, when I've been managing just fine without help for 55+ years. I've had one car where HSA was available, but only by active driver choice to turn it on. And one car whose default was 'HSA on' that could be reset to 'default = HSA off'.
