can anyone confirm the mach one calls for 5W 30? I just went to the Ford technical page for the 2021 Mustang GT and the mach one and it shows 5W 20.

Its on the engine oil filling cap. Also Ford USA confirmed to me its 5W-30.can anyone confirm the mach one calls for 5W 30? I just went to the Ford technical page for the 2021 Mustang GT and the mach one and it shows 5W 20.
What were the numbers previously? My apologies, I just saw it now in a 2021 owner's manual also. Halleluiah!!!!!!!!
I recently switched to Penzoil Ultra Platinum 5W 30 and the Ford FL 820 racing oil filter and now I have super high oil pressure. About 80 psi at 3,5000 rpm and close to 100 at 5,000 rpm. The oil is hot. Anyone else experiencing such readings?
Were you using 5W30 when you had 60 at WOT?Idle numbers are the same, approx 15-20 pounds hot. Topped out about 60 psi at WOT
I see that Halfords sells Castrol Magnatec 5W-30 C2 now:Which brand did you use? Because Euro spec cars have GPFs installed and they require oil that meets C2 spec (low sulphur)
Right now it’s seams only Miller oils have one type of 5w-30 that meets this requirement. Castrol A5 doesn’t meet the C2 grade.
After speaking to Ford UK on the phone and confirming the new Mach 1s switched to 5W-30 to help prevent (engine ticking) they also confirmed A5 doesn’t meet the spec required in this engine and would in fact void warranty.
Personally I think Castrol 5W-30 A5 is most likely better than Ford spec but above is what I’ve been told by the manufacturer.
I live in the UK. I've called 4 dealers, they all took my registration and put it into the system. All of them said 5W-20. I said to them, isn't that the old recommendation? None of them had any clue. As for the ACEA Engine Oil Sequence, I asked them A3, A5, C2, etc? Only one guy said that they always use C2. One dealer said they always use: Mobil Super 3000 Formula F 5W-20, I have no idea if that's a C2 oil.Hi all I picked up my mach a couple of days ago while I was there I went to the parts shop to get a litre of oil and some coolant, anyway I was given 5w-20 ? I looked on oil cap on engine it says 5w-30 now I am sure I heard on here fords changed to 5w-30 a while back didn't they ? if you look in hand book it says 0w-30 ? can you guys put me straight it is 5w-30 isn't it.
Do you see temperature's that low that you would need a 0W30 oil?Since I was passing my dealer yesterday I thought I'd grab 1L of oil. Parts dept were helpful but believed that I needed 5W20. I showed them an extract from the Mach 1 supplement which indicated 5w30 was probably what I ought to have. They had some, but a different Ford spec code. I gave them the WSS-M2C961-A1 code and left them to make some enquiries. Got a call today and was informed they had spoken to Ford Technical and the oil grade was changed this year and I need 0W30. Parts dept also mentioned the service dept also now use 0w30.
I’m in the southeast of the UK. The coldest I’ve seen here was -12c / 10F though normally the coldest winter nights it only drops to -5c.Do you see temperature's that low that you would need a 0W30 oil?
barely. RP 5w30 Dexos2/SP is barely behind and stomps Penn on Zinc and Phosphorous. There are precious few 'bad' oils out there unless you're buying no-name gas station specials.during my search, I found this website that test motor oils and list the addictive content https://pqia.org/passenger-car-motor-oil/
So far, looks like Pennsoil Platinum has one of the highest content of Boron
