Of course you know Ford does not recommend lifting by the 'Ole Pumpkin, right?

Lots of reasons not to and it is an old way that no longer applies.
I'd think because the IRS diff isn't a weight of vehicle loaded part anymore like a solid axle(rear end) was, jacking up on it isn't doing the cars unitbody any favors.

Nope, works just fine. Been jacked up by the diff over 20 times and zero issues.

But I would love to hear the reasons why not to lol. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Rear diff and front subframe, put jack stands on pinch weld, eazy peazy. No need to buy jacking rails

Bad information
Not on the later models Jack.

Better go tell all the Ford techs that do it that they are wrong. It's 100% fine on the diff and the front subframe. But go ahead and fuck up your pinch welds

Looked in manual for jack points and it's just a pic of the underside with arrows pointing to the general area. Where are the safe jack points on these s550s?
Yes. Get a set of jacking rails. From the middle, you can jack up whole left or right side. Also great to use jack stands and lift all four wheels off the ground.

I went and purchased the Steeda jack rails and could not be happier. Jack up one side of the car , place the jack stands along the rails and go to the other side and repeat.

I would and if I caught a tech jacking by the pumpkin I would be very hot, rightfully so.

If you are such an advanced wrench you would know what I am talking about.

I wouldn't know I've never worked at a dealership.
Perhaps the lifts have the slots already in the pads?
Perhaps they just don't care.
That's the reason I bought and installed Jacking rails on my car. In that way, you don't have to worry where you place the jack and the advantage (besides it stiffening the undercarriage) is you can place the floor jack in the center between front and rear wheels and it'll lift the entire side of the car (great for rotating front and rear tires). I don't trust the entry level "tech" at the dealer either.
