In your Mustang, when the fuel gauge reads 0 miles until empty, what's the farthest you've driven?

I haven't, but several people have reported they ran out of gas very soon after. The general consensus seems to be that in Mustangs zero means really zero.
Other Ford vehicles will do up to 30 more miles after reaching 0 MTE. The Mustang though won't.

I did 7 miles once trying to find a gas station in the middle of nowhere, when i filled up it was 15.7 gallons so probably 3 more miles and i was done for, ive never gotten the car below 25 to empty since then so thats all i had to experiment with this topic lol

I wouldn’t necessarily say that, although I’m sure it’s somewhat based on how you normally drive and how the car learns your habits. But on my ecoboost I got to 0 a few times, and when I got gas it was maybe around 14.5-15 gallons, meaning there was AT LEAST a half gallon remaining. That means I still had a minimum of 10-15 miles remaining which should be plenty to get to a station before reaching actual empty. I haven’t gotten that low on my Mach 1, but I’m sure there’s a similar reserve.

As to how far I’ve gone on empty, I’d say about 12 feet.

When these cars say empty they by gawd mean it. Don’t trifle with them. I found it shocking that there was such little leeway!

Probably 3 miles or so. I fill up at 25 miles to empty now that I am on an e50 tune since sometimes one station is out of e85 and I have to drive about 10 miles to another. Also I have a BAP and dw400 and I want to keep them cool and submerged with gas/e85 .
