It is a lot of fun in that respect. Go test drive a modelS Plaid some time. Fuggin' nuts.
Yep its fast AF and its fun. But only a few times, then I go back to my 6 speed, listen to that glorious exhaust, ram the gears and never look back at the electric appliance. lol

When the U.S. auto journalists tested the Mach 1, Motor Trend quoted 0-60 mph of 4.2 seconds for the car with the HP and A10. Car and Driver got 4.3 seconds for a Tremec and HP car. I know the journalists use rollout. I measured my A10, non-HP, ECU tuned, Kooks headers car yesterday in S and Sport+ and got 4.8 seconds. To say that I was disappointed, would be quite the understatement. Maybe I should try Drag Mode. I know I give up traction via the PS4S vs Cup 2's, but I would have thought a tune and headers would make up for some of it. I drove home with my tail between my legs.
Searching for M1 front wheel offsets, I came across this which Ford issued for the euro :

So your 4.8 to a factory 4.4 doesn't seem quite as far out as you initially thought :like:

For those that can't be bothered with the conversion, 400 meters is 1312.34 ft so slightly shorter than a 1/4 mile - but not enough to make a noticeable difference (at our level). Top speeds are 166 and 155.

It's not AWD where you can replicate it pretty much anywhere, not much worse even on wet, that's for sure. My best was 5.1 but it was bad concrete panel airfield. Hunting tenths of seconds has never been my thing so stopped caring. It's fast enough and straight-line acceleration is boring anyway, curves are better.

Just back from a drive guys & gals. I took 0.2 seconds off my time to record a 0-60 mph of 4.6 seconds. That's a new personal best for me, and I'm really quite pleased. I changed my technique this time. While braking, I gave the car a little throttle, then as I released the brake I quickly pushed (instead of stomping) the throttle. This resulted in less wheel spin. There was still some spin, but far less than the previous two attempts. The car was also straight this time.

nice - keep practicing! Its fun t practice and learn your car so you can drive it and know what to expect. Can we ever change the stigma of Mustang drivers?

As I was leaving my first ever Mustang car meet, there was a teenager videoing me as I was leaving the parking lot. I was thinking to myself "don't do it", no full send that ends up in the trees and on the internet!

What happened to those 3.8 and 3.9 60s and 11.8/11.9 1/4s with supposedly bone stockers I used to read about all the time? I never tried any of mine but I had come to think this was just how the A10 GTs rolled.

Do we need to rethink everything we thought we knew?

Yeah, Mustangs don't do those times, except for GT500. These prepared surfaces, special tyre pressures or special drag tires, one foot rollout - that's all bullshit. Only number that matters is the one that the car can do from standstill on a normal asphalt road, repeatadly. And you have good luck when you get below 5 sec with 10R80 Mustang. Any AWD car like Audi RS5 or BMW M4 M Xdrive will beat its ass (on dry, not even mentioning wet) with similar weight and power (on paper, because Mustangs are underpower at the wheels). That's just the way it is. And it is not a problem when you accept it, as it has its strengths in other areas (V8 beats them all).

I took my 21 mach a10 non hp car to dragstrip. On a m/t drag radial with rear seats out it went 11.60 @ 119 1.846.

To those of you using your car to record the 0-60 time. Get a dragy. It is way more accurate. I've recorded a 4.6 via the car and a 3.2 with a dragy. The same run at the drag strip. The car didn't have accurate 60' data either, the dragy matched my slip.

I have personally never seen below a 4.6 on the on-board app.

Just out of curiosity, I took a look at some recordings I did with TrackAddict. No drags or 0-60s, just the regular drive on a highway recorded by the app. I used a dedicated GPS connected by BT with 5Hz update rate and OBDLink MX+ also connected by BT. Here is a snippet from the recorded data, where I was slowly accelerating to 100 km/h:

speed_time_difference.png

The 3rd column is the GPS speed, the 7th column is OBD speed. Technically, according to the OBD the car reached 100 km/h approx. 0.6 sec. earlier than on GPS. The GPS reception was very good and the update rate was comparable to the OBD update rate, so I cannot really blame GPS for "being slow" or anything. The other question is how the OBD speed is calculated. This may be derived from the wheel/tire diameter, which might not be exactly right either.

The only conclusion is that the way you measure the speed can be quite important and therefore it is important to compare only results obtained by the same way.

I would have guessed that the built-in app could be using the OBD data, while dragy would be relying solely on GPS data.
