I have a Magnetic GT. I get the occasional compliment from strangers at the gas station or shops. However, my wife and I went to lunch yesterday, and driving home along the highway she noticed something like cloth flapping on the windscreen wiper. It soon started to rain and using the wipers revealed a pair of skimpy black knickers wrapped on the wiper blade. I'll take that as a compliment!
Imagine how much explaining I would have to do if my wife didn't see it herself!

That's kind of what I expected, and I think it will still mostly be true in the longer term. But over the years and various cars I've owned (which I guess isn't really that many years or that many cars, but it's something), I've started to get the sensation that cars, when brand new, have some kind of... "aura".

Maybe it's the stupid grins and childlike wonderment we have when driving them? Maybe it's just the dealer plates? But even some of the more "normal" cars I've owned get some attention for a while after rolling off the dealer lot.

In my very anecdotal experience so far, the Mach 1 is getting slightly more than average, but we'll see. I mean between that exhaust note, the sporty exterior accents, and Mach 1 decals, it does stand out a bit... and mine is basically highlighter yellow, too, heh.

I'm sure there's also some confirmation bias, too. I find myself looking at everyone I pass when in a new car I'm proud of to see who notices lol.

EDIT: Speaking of bias, I think all Mustangs stand out at least a bit, especially this gen. If I catch one out of the corner of my eye, it almost always makes me take a look... Partly cuz I want to see what trim it is, and partly because they're just beautiful cars, even if they're everywhere.
That is one of the nicest yellows they ever put on a car. Great choice.

I get more compliments on my Sky Redline than any of
the 4 'hotrod' cars I've had in the last 7 years................................:giggle:

Oh that was your car? Sorry about that. Any chance I could have them back? That was my favorite pair!

This is funny as I would not believe it, if have not lived it myself. I have been having my car for 5 days and every time I took it out, I got some complimenting comments. Even the very first day, after I arrived from the dealer and was attaching the licence plates in our underground parking the neighbor who was leaving just stopped by and said some words of appreciation. And I am not meeting people who are car enthusiasts, just ordinary people, yet for some reason they are eager to comment, compliment or get into a talk about the car. Unbelievable :)
Absolutely on the "ordinary people" commenting, in addition to other car buffs.

is it just the decals or what that garners attention? because I plan on immediately removing mine and just putting pin stripes. (not that I hate the decals but PPF the way I want it requires $1k+ in OEM decals vs $200 in stipes). While the grill is different, cosmetically there isn't much changes, value is in the parts. Most common people have no clue between the difference of a 30k ecoboost vs a 100k GT500. Same goes for R/T vs Hellcat or Superstock

was the address written into the waistband? Or telephone surely. In Braille, just to make it not obvious and a small challenge.

Well, they looked a bit grungy and I had no real desire to look too closely if you know what I mean.

@davtpa I've yet to see a Mach 1 on the road. Just dealership lots and floors. Whoever bought those 6300, aren't in northern NJ.
There are 4 others in my town alone. And the dealership has 4 ‘22 models on order to sale not already reserved for customers.

I don’t have a Mach1, just a base GT. However, I’ve never had a nice car in my life until now. I don’t get stopped all that often but when I get complimented I tell people how much I appreciate them saying so. Owning my Mustang is a lot more than just a fun car to me. It was a huge amount of work and taking care of a shit load of financial responsibilities for my wife and kids before I could even start saving for my car…
I loathe you SoCal people! JK! However, you guys have the perfect weather, roads and the climate to keep cars really nice. Lived in San Clemente for several years and totally enjoyed living there. Love the climate, weather and fun roads to cruise on, and going to surf at Trestle's. Ton of fun!

Love the way you guys talk in Australia. Here in the US, it would be like: There's some girls panties stuck to my windshield wiper, WTF! Right on. Sounds like it was fun? Maybe, maybe not!

I can’t stand it here either man, it’s not what it used to be. That being said I grew up surfing Trestles too!
