For those who bought or ordered the 2022 model, how do you feel about it having 10 less HP and lbs/ft of torque vs the 2021 model?

I had a chance to buy the 2021 or 2022 but I chose the 2021 model just for the slightly higher horsepower and torque and it was about 3K cheaper here in Dubai

thoughts?

No real world difference. At test n tune a 2022 gt ran a 12.01 @119 Friday night in less than ideal conditions.

Not concerned in the least.

There was previously a thread on this topic. I think almost everyone noted the difference did not matter, although it does make a good basis for jokes and busting balls.

The majority of people I've talked to about the car thus far, some of them Mustang owners, are not even aware of the difference. If HP is discussed, it's given as-is, often with a quick agreement she's plenty fast.

There's always going to be a quicker or more capable car out there somewhere; IMO, one needs to be at peace with that.

I'd think a greater interest is what unique features or options a car has versus others (I don't care about or quote $ either). People are always appreciative seeing things they haven't noticed or been aware of before, not that one car has more HP than another.

Well itā€™s not a big deal in the big scheme of things but with every new year model I always expect to get something extra eg.more aero, better sound system, a few more ponies under the hood. Itā€™s definitely not a ā€œbonusā€ to get a 22 with 10 less ponies and a more restrictive air intake/tune.

Given a choice Iā€™d take the extra 10HP. But given thereā€™s no choice I doubt very much that Iā€™d miss it. TBH Iā€™m in the UK with a car on order and at this point Iā€™ll be happy just to get a car. Losing 10 HP is the very least of my worries.

I still believe that there's more to it than removing the carbon filter and MAF tube. The only way we know is if someone did back to back dyno pulls. The tune has a larger part to play in it I still believe. It's all anecdotal evidence so far the above mentioned items return your HP.
I agree with the tune part, but basic principles still apply to any engine. The faster and less restrictive the air enters and exits the engine, the more HP you will make.

This will also make the engine more efficient, to say it is not struggling to breathe.

Unfortunately, with todays cars most modifications require a tune change. Hopefully someone will perform some dyno runs on stock 21 & 22, so we can really see the difference.

The shitty thing about MY2022 is the higher base price and higher option package price but there isn't any improvements over MY2021.

I ended up buying slightly used 2021 (3900 miles) in mint condition for $3K less than new 2022 (at MSRP but not including $7500 ADM that most dealers are/were charging for Handling Package), so the savings could have been close to $10K.

I also got the Seller to put on brand new Mich PS4S tires (almost $2K installed) and a new splitter ($400) because it had some scrapes on the bottom.

Zero concern for me because I knew I wasnā€™t keeping the car stock.

Nothing that a tune and headers can't fix.

I will be removing the carbon filter from my Mach 1 about 3 minutes after i get it home. After i supercharge it, i doubt the 10hp will matter much!
