When the U.S. auto journalists tested the Mach 1, Motor Trend quoted 0-60 mph of 4.2 seconds for the car with the HP and A10. Car and Driver got 4.3 seconds for a Tremec and HP car. I know the journalists use rollout. I measured my A10, non-HP, ECU tuned, Kooks headers car yesterday in S and Sport+ and got 4.8 seconds. To say that I was disappointed, would be quite the understatement. Maybe I should try Drag Mode. I know I give up traction via the PS4S vs Cup 2's, but I would have thought a tune and headers would make up for some of it. I drove home with my tail between my legs.

Not only do the journalists and manufacturers use rollout, they also achieve their numbers on a dragstrip. Did you experience wheel spin when trying this?

If you think your car is slow now, try bringing it up to a mile above sea level. tears and sadness....

Which is obviously why it was a rquirement for me to add the blower.

I had a bit of spin, but obviously the traction control in Sport+ kicked in. I just feel so stupid.

Put some drag radials on the back if you want to cut down those times. For me, overall handling, turn in, lateral grip are more important than straight line performance. Drag radials do not corner well.

As noted above, traction! With the tires slipping and the traction control limiting power, a half a second is just that. Think about how quickly a half second goes by and thats the difference between however many tries the magazines did compared to your attempt (one, two?).
I havent tried this in mine yet, but when I had the 2014 GT with the Roush and 315 NT05R's I could only hit 4.2 on the street and was also quite disappointed.

For comparison buddy, in the Jeep 2.8 - traction!

No, both car and driver and motortrend explicitly regularly state that they don’t use prepped drag surfaces. They use factory recommended tire pressures and two way averages as well. They also use rollout (which is typically 0.2-0.3 sec) and correct for ambient conditions. They also have people that do this for a living, so they are better at it than the average Joe. They also do as many attempts as needed to get their very best times.

Maybe not a prepped surface, but for sure a closed course that has 100's of test runs on it

There is your answer.

I don't know their correction factor but your 4.8 might really be a magazine 3.6
I know you’re probably being sarcastic but there’s no correction factor that would make a 25% reduction. At most it’s 8-10% for very high DA (eg 7000’ DA), anything beyond that can’t really be accurately corrected. Even at that level it’s suspect.

One thing correction factors can’t correct for are reduced timing due to high ambient temps.

Maybe not a prepped surface, but for sure a closed course that has 100's of test runs on it
True. But not prepped. Filled with rubber from SUVs and trucks that isn’t very sticky. But possibly still slightly stickier than regular clean asphalt.

Let's be clear, I have zero performance driving skills. A week ago the Mrs passed me in our Ford Focus. #pathetic

A bit of an exaggeration :) but take the 10% makes it 4.3 then add the .3 for roll out leaves 4 flat. Then get rid of wheel spin and you could get 3.6 :sunglasses::beer::like:

In magazine spec anyway.
