I've had the Steeda for about 3 years. I'm in Canada and have found that in colder weather they won't hold my hood up anymore.
But in warmer weather they work fine.
Also as a waiver I have a big fake MMD hood scoop so of course that's probably the cause. But they worked before perfectly for years.

I've avoided hood struts and am sticking with the OEM post. I've had to many hoods come down on my head when the struts decide it's to much for them.

I tried installing the Redlines.....they moved around despite my best efforts. I'll stick with the prop rod too

Same here. I ended up returning them. BTW, I didn't have any issue with them on my 2015 Mustang.

all of them. The very nature of the install damages the paint on the inner fender and hood bracket. I know this isn’t a big deal for lots of folks, but it makes me cringe.

I put a set on my '16 Ford Interceptor Utility and they are great. But, they mount differently. A friend with a '23 Mach 1 has the turning issue on his struts too with the Redline kit.

I had a set of struts saved on a list for under my Xmas tree. After reading this thread I think I'll just stick to the hood prop.

I've put two sets from Redline on a 2015, a set on a 2017, and a set on my 2023. Never an issue with any of those four sets. On my 2015 I was also running a heavier TruFiber fiberglass hood and the struts held without issue. At about 7 years old the original set on my 2015 got to where I would have to assist in raising the hood, but once fully raised they never let the hood fall.

Others may have other experiences, but it's always one of my first mods and I can't imagine having to work around a prop rod after having these for 8+ years.

be a great idea if I had the equipment to make lol
Installing a self-tapping screw through the strut bracket and fender might be enough to make the FP struts stable.

The bottom mounting brackets are such a piss poor design. Don’t buy the FP’s.

I went with the reclines. They were easy to install and held the hood just fine. I did crush the washer fluid hose. I thought it was out of the way. After that, I 3D printed a simple bracket to hold the hose out of the way. I used a 3m command strip to attach the bracket to the hood. Problem solved!
