What's everybody using? I put a Steeda kit on my 20 when new and the gas cylinders have crapped out. I can't find enough info on them to locate replacement cylinders so I may have to buy another kit. The info printed on the cylinders doesn't get me anywhere on searches, I measure them at 13 inches extended and about 8 inches closed. Anyone have something similar that has the weight rating on them, I could probably find cylinders with that info. Thanks Jim

I put the ford performance hood strut kit on. Its only been a few months but so far so good. You do need to slightly modify your battery cover to make it work.

Hey, Parts that we manufacture, we support. I can get the part number from our MFG Team for a set of Replacements.

Please send me an email at [email protected]. If you can add your previous order # or part number, please do. Speeds up the process.

Very easy. You need 13” and 55lbs gas struts like those ones
Steed could have helped you a bit more
Open length and pressure rating is all you need to get lift struts
The ones in the picture are. $20 for the pair

Thank you, have you used that weight rating on a stock hood? I always felt the originals I put on were a little light, if the hood was up and you wiggle the car it would likely close. Jim

The manual prop rod has never failed me.
Pretty? Not at all... but it is reliable at preventing the hood and engine bay from becoming guillotine. :giggle:
It has me, maybe if you spent some time under the hood working on cars you would also get tired of running into the prop rod. And being outside in the wind and have a gust of wind blow the hood up off the prop rod then slam down is another thing I recommend you try!

Yes, i use this rating on my 17
To replace the ford racing ones
Stiffer than the ford but all struts loose pressure after time.
It’s why it’s good to have cheap replacement

Redline seems to be the go-to brand for many of us. Mine have been installed for 3 years and are still perfect. The design of the fender attachment fasteners on the Ford performance struts has been reported as a problem.

My redline ones have been installed since 2015. They’re only now starting to have trouble holding the hood up.

My Redlines are going on 7 years and work perfectly (even with a much heavier Cervini dual ram air hood)
