Greetings y’all,

I just installed them Redline's hood struts on my 2017 GT, I followed the provided instructions meticulously and ensuring all them bolts were tightened and torqued properly. However, I've noticed a bending noise each time I close the hood, I'm just worried about a potential bending or hood gaps over time. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with their hood struts? Thanks for any insights or feedback.

I have the same ones on my shelby and they are not quiet. I am
not sure what a bending noise is, but I close my hood slow and easy.
I think the shocks make some noise.

Have them on my gt and no noises at all over 5 years. I did buy ford strut at first and they made noise on closing an d I coukd see flexing on hood so reeturned them is your hood flexing.if your concerned return and get new ones

Yes I am experiencing a slight flexing issue as you said, accompanied by a noise that resembles bending when the flex occurs. The struts I have installed are Redline, which are considered as one of the top options on the market. Therefore, I am uncertain whether returning them would resolve the issue.

My Redlines have been just fine with no noise or flexing I can see. They've been on since 2020 and I don't baby them. Usually just pull it down until it drops shut on its own.
OP, I know you said you were "meticulous" with the install but, were it mine, I would recheck everything, maybe going so far as to loosen everything, reseat and re-tighten it back up.

I was thinking maybe you got a bad strut .they are hydraulic maybe not enough fluid in them.i'd call them up and tell them yourc seeing some flex I ng what should you do might also just reinstall them if you do that test them to see how easily they move
