I might be the first here, but I have a Ford dealer (Sun State Ford) telling me I had an exhaust baffold go bad inside one of my mufflers. Car is a 2016 GT350 with 27k miles. Just outside of the 3 year/36k and I'm told I'm going to have to eat a ~$2,600 repair (cost of OEM catback system plus labor). Likely going aftermarket based on cost instead.

I've had cars with as much as +100k miles and never a single exhaust problem. Has this happened to anyone else with a GT350 (don't care about the GT Owners - no offense)?

How many FPC-engined cars have you had with over 25k miles?

It doesnā€™t surprise me that a baffle is loose... the pulses, backfires, vibration these cars endure is impressive.

I'll just comment (as I don't own Shelby) - labor is something you can very easily do yourself. You'd save on that if you like the stock system, same with aftermarket.

If you are out of warranty might as well go with a full headers back system. My recommendation is American Racing sounds fantastic.

Iā€™d be looking for a used take-off, but it is a good excuse to get the setup you really want too

DC SHELBY that's what I thought but Ford tells me it varies state to state. I got a call from a Ford Rep today and they're already talking about reimbursement costs (I never even brought it up). Let's see what happens.

FYI, not sure of the outcome I just went ahead and ordered the Ford Racing Borla setup.

Did the valve that opens and closes fail? Easy to understand. You will enjoy the Borla/Ford Racing system. Everything made by Borla is top notch.

This is a HUGE help. Basically explains to me what the dealer and the Ford representative were unable to do so. Acting under the impression I had no coverage when I actually did, I incurred the cost of replacing the part at my own expense which I should not have. Granted, I went the Ford Performance route due to cost savings over OEM, but its money I otherwise should not have needed to spend. This is going to be interesting how Ford handles. I'm sure their argument is going to be they'll pay for an OEM replacement but will not pay for an aftermarket replacement (although it is a Ford branded product).

Love Borla stuff. I have a Borla X pipe, mid pipes and stingers on my '14 GT and it sound frickin RUDE when you open it up. Nice and quiet on the highway, no drone.

Cold starts wake the dead. Enjoy!

Dealer is full of it saying it varies state to state, as you see above itā€™s a federal law.

good that they are reimbursing you !

How did you know something went bad? What was the symptom that led to look for a problem?
