Blackstone will take roughly 4 weeks to get an analysis. There’s other companies that’ll do it quicker. Blackstone is just backed up. Mine took 4 weeks after they got it. You’ll get a good answer, just not a quick one.
I took mine for an oil change a week after I got it and sent the oil for analysis. Oil was good. And I’ll change it again in another 3-4k and send another analysis. Blackstone will send out a couple kits at a time if you ask.
Does that say you are the 7th owner?

Subscribing.....I have seen this gold flake stuff in different oil additives but cannot get any confirmation photos right now.....hope you figure it out since what's really strange is none in the filter??

Good Luck!!

As for the sound the engine makes, @honeybadger's advice is good. I've listened to your videos a couple of times and there's a low frequency thumping sound, like a bass drum, and I don't know what that is. It could be exhaust or something else benign. It doesn't sound like a rod knock - there's no sharp knocking sound.
Could the sound be the corsa extreme exhaust?

Drop oil plan and pull ALL rod caps, one at a time so to not misplace or confuse them. BE SURE to remember their exact orientation (must be reinstalled exactly the same as they were removed) and you cannot cross them. Each rod cap must go back on the same rod it was removed from.

You will be able to find out exactly what's going on by looking at the bearings.

Its mostly an all day project, but can be done in a day. ive done it.

Belly pan off. Let’s see if I can get the k-member off today.
Side note- does anyone have a link or a part number for the rivets that are on the front splitter. Missing a couple and most a ground down.

You’re going for it…..
Let’s have some friendly forum wagers as to what you find.
I bet 10 grand in Monopoly money and a Get out of Jail Free card you find the bottom end in excellent condition.

Unfortunately I don’t think those rivets are available as a Ford supplied part. I‘m guessing if the rivets are gone/shot then the splitter is probably chewed up also, so a replacement might be the best bet if aesthetics are important.

Minor issue I know compared to your main concern though. Hoping for the best!

The first oil change on my v6 at 3k mi. looked just like your pictures. Nothing ever after that. Sent my second oil change for analysis and was good.
Question, could you feel any particles when you rub the oil between your fingers? I couldn't.

I've bought them. I don't have the part number, but they were available when I was looking for them.

How could it be suspended in the oil but none be trapped in the filter element? Every single spun bearing I’ve ever seen had plenty of glitter in the paper filter element.
I second this approach. There's something strange about this and the "clean" oil filter indicates that whatever the crud is, it wasn't circulating in the engine before you drained it. That doesn't mean there isn't a problem, but troubleshoot it methodically so you don't cause a new problem when you're looking for whatever this is.
This is interesting (and sorry for your trouble). I agree with the quotes above. The top end of the engine looked clean too. I m no engine builder. Did you really zoom in on those particles? Could something have been on a rag(or car bottom) and when wiping oil drips and splashes off the engine bottom have brushed off into pan? Just a far off thought but after decades of oil changes it did happen once to me. Caught me off guard, fine sand.
