A magnetic drain plug is also a good idea. Won't capture everything but will give you a good idea of what's floating around. I replaced the yellow plastic drainplug with the metal plug with a magnet when I did the 1000 mile oil change.
sounds like a good idea. I’ll pick one of those up next oil change.

Oil Analysis will be able to tell you if you're getting excessive bearing wear, etc. But as pointed out above, it won't be able to help identify if this is valve train components or oil pump gears or ring material. The debris is just too large.

I guess the good news is the filter is doing its job.

I'm not sure what would be more concerning, large(r) pieces like that or glitter under flashlight test.

that’s what I was hoping to hear👍. So what are we looking at?.. piston, rings? I can’t imagine it would be bearing material…
Consensus it is crap from manufacturing and casting flash, etc and from assembly. I don't buy it, most of these engine parts are finely manufactured, and clean on assembly, but who knows. Most of the fine metallic sludge on magnet is from the initial scrub in of the bearings and cyls, and can last for the first 1oK miles, but chunks and large flakes would concern me.

Well there’re no “chunks”.
Also probably worth mentioning is that my oil consumption is next to nothing, (half a quart in 2000+kms) and there are no bad sounds coming from the engine. My ‘19 bullitt made more valvetrain noise right out of the box.

When the filter looks like it's full of silver paint is when it's time to worry....

I don’t have anything valuable to add. Yet. But I do have a new Voodoo with 1000 mile break-in, a dealer oil service and then a track weekend. I’ll do an oil service myself soon and see what the filter and UOA look like.

I'll be doing break in hopefully soon as well. What did you do for it? Oil change after 500 or 1000 miles?

Just a guess without having an Analysis done, It looks like original break in associated particulates from a builder or the manufacture. Have you used a 40x magnifier glass to see?.
Good Luck

The blocks have a ton of loose casting flaws that you can get to flake off by rubbing your hand hard across some of the surfaces.

This is the small dirt/particle looking aluminum you are seeing.

I wouldn't sweat it. Run it.

send the oil off for analysis at Blackstone Labs. I might expect that on the initial oil change. Not 4 later and 6K miles.
