Failed State Inspection - Texas

Went in for my first state inspection today. Failed due to 'O2 Sens', 'O2 Sens Htr' and 'Catalyst' reading "not ready". '22 Mach 1 with Kooks LTH w/green cats and Steeda H-pipe. Anyone else have this issue? The guy asked when the exhaust was changed out and thought that maybe the computer hadn't had time to "adjust". I don't believe this is the case as that was about 1500 miles ago. I don't drive the car frequently- maybe once a month (it has ~4000 miles).

Time to hook up one of these, go for some rides, and see if there is any movement. Sounds like either you need time, or something is off with that header install.

Renew online, check the box that says "car is out of state", boom no inspection. You're welcome.

Just pinky swear you will inspect it when it returns to the state. I've heard other guys do this trick, I definitely haven't.

I don't know about Texas but here, in Georgia, if you fail at an inspection station you're in the system and any further attempts to pass will pull up the failure.

Was anything damaged when the headers were installed I would check connectors. My jeep 4.0l o2 heater never "readys." Luckily we get one mulligan here in NH. I would clear everything , sounds stupid disconnect the battery. Reconnect. And let it relearn. You can get a code reader with readiness for 20 bucks Amazon. It shouldn't take longer than 40 miles and a couple key cycles to ready everything. Any longer I'd start looking at the o2s.

Did you install defoulers with the LTH install? Ever get a CEL since install? Tuned with the LTH?

Who cares. Car is now "out of state" and therefore unable to do an inspection. Just gotta renew and promise to get one done when the car comes back to Texas.

It's the county he's in. Out here in West Texas I think I could run around with open headers and not have a problem. Just don't try driving around without a front plate

Next year most counties in Texas are joining you and not having any kind of inspection at all. OP just needs to move a county or two over.
